What a great tip per toe/heel ball position for the driver. Just tested this into my net and it's money!

I love how these videos don't try to "tell me what I need to do," or "Stop doing this!" type of snake oil influencer videos. This is just to the point presentation of driving concepts that might help improve your driver. Thanks!

What a sensible and honest video, your comment about swing speed and 9 degrees of loft is spot on.

What a great explanation of how close to stand to the ball - I have seen a lot of players look like they're setting up with the ball towards the toe of the driver but I assumed that people naturally stretched a touch on their downswing. Seeing that it is really a function of the ball being teed up makes this make a lot more sense!

Fantastic video. i am so that guy, 3 wood driver virtually the same distance. I will be trying this on the range tomorrow. Very well explained. Thank you

You have a sub from me David. I appreciate your style of delivery - calm, gentle advice, easy to visualise swing thoughts rather than the frenetic delivery of some when they get in front of the camera. It's like they are performing an audition for something and it's distracting. Similarly you avoid the usual 'ok's, 'awlright's etc. You have a nice smooth speech delivery - like that swing at the end. I have also watched many videos on KZbin and yours is the first I've come across that simply explains some of the physics and how that affects the outcome when combined with swing path etc. Makes so much sense to me now. Many thanks.

It’s the centrifugal force on the downswing that throws the club further out but your reasoning for having it inline with the toe of the club while on the ground is good.

Thats what I thought. But his explanation makes sense maybe a little of both?

Thanks for explaining the theory David, you were describing my issues regarding 3 wood and Driver distances. I will be trying this out on the range today.

The very interesting and useful information. I was taught to address the ball with the driver in the hovered position, but it was never explained why, and I’ve never given it any thought as to why it’s different to that with an iron. I’d hazard a guess and say 75% of the time I address the ball hovered, the rest from the ground. I’ll be addressing from the hovered position in the future - hopefully it will result in improved consistency with the driver. Cheers 😀

Driver tip has nailed me, I hit straight or a very slight fade but feel I am short plus I often feel the ball coming a little off the heel! Great tip and I will put this into practice next time I am at the range or course.

When I tee my golf ball up there is about half or just under of the ball sitting above the top of the driver when it's resting on the ground is this the right position?
@TheResourcefulCoach3 ай бұрын
Half of the ball above the top of the club face is the guideline, and then slightly adjust as you feel comfortable with it

Centrifugal force is what you are explaining. address on the toe and hit it center

Hitting off the toe does not produce a draw. It produces a right fade. It’s like in a pool shot , hitting lift of ball produces left inglish thus ball spinning to right.
@TheResourcefulCoach7 ай бұрын
Because of the shape of the face and ball, when hitting off the toe the face opens, this opening action is counter balanced with the ball, causing it to draw. This is called ‘Gear Effect’
