Longsteps Launch

Escorted by Scamps, Navigators, the Tread Lightly, Pathfinders, a Whaler, and many more, the Longsteps officially launched on March 12, 2024.
Location Lake Rotoiti by Rotorua, Aotearoa.
Present were family, skippers of Welsford designs, other boats and two randoms, one from Romania.
This boat is great for North Americans who have a rowing background, eshew outboards, or are ready for the next size boat with water ballast, cuddy and yawl rig.
Secondly Europeans with a desire to sail, row and drift across the continent. ... the usual Canal Saint-Martin cheese and wine run and more.
Lastly those who are serious about unassisted multiday expeditions, that that are looking for the next generation in open boat voyaging.

Impressive looking vessel Longsteps in the video. Showing the seats and inner boat well. Excellent video Hugo. She really seems to hold onto the Welsford's beautiful curves in design but it really is quite different to all the other boats. Maybe Walkabout is the only one that could be similar.

Thanks for the question Bob, we have three national lanuages ... many people legally refer to the country by it's indigenous name ... you know where Aotearoa is now .... that's a win so things are moving forward brick by brick .... all the best
