Super presentation Aleks. Enjoying the relaxed thoughtful style. I would pick the SBGW287 Boshu (and I just might!) - deep red in this style of watch is rare indeed, and I already have a 44GS case. Those who haven't handled Grand Seiko's really need to in order to understand. I've tried on the blue dial SBGW283 and it too is more impressive in the metal than you expect. The cream '231 is a classic piece. For folks wanting 39mm, auto and date the SBGR261 is a knockout. It's a thinner 3 hand 'version' of the famous SBGM221 GMT watch. I like it better although I didn't expect to. Hands-on means SO much. Here in Sydney we are lucky to have a full GS boutique so if it's available they have it. The '289 is sold out.

Thanks Chris! Interesting piece that one, the boshu that is. Regarding 261 and 221, I know people like these, but I dislike the date Windows at the 261 and never really understod the 221..

@@AleksWatches Ah, date windows, some people can't live without them, others particular about where they are. Me, I just like what I do and no rules at all. Can't imagine my SBGA373 without it, balances the power reserve. And some hate that thing. I love it. That's the fascination of these wonderful things :)

These watches are all stunning in their own respect and such good value for dress watches. To think you can have the SBGW231 2nd hand for like 3k-3.5k, similar price to a Cartier Tank must, with such beautiful finishing, such a beautiful and solid movement from a reputable brand.... sign me up. I'm still doubting whether to get the 231 or a JLC Reverso Duoface, which is like double the price.... Idk if it's worth it, but such a rectangular case also brings sth new to the collection

Agreed, a lot of bang for the buck! The Duoface is too large/thick for my taste to serve as a dress watch.

@@AleksWatches Fair enough! In a three watch collection of BB58, OP126000 and SBGW231 OR Reverso Duoface, I like that both the SBGW231 and Duoface Reverso (medium, so it's like 10mm thick) are a bit of a hybrid pick between dressy and being able to wear casually

I really love these! I tend to like 39mm watches for the most part, but you can’t go off size alone, some wear bigger/smaller than you’d expect. While a 37mm sports watch would feel/look too small, a 37mm dress is such a nice, classic size, it looks great even on my larger wrist.

The only manufacturer of worth that seems to actually understand the classical sizing of dress watches - the 231 seems to have the glue bubbles round the edges which seems to be a constant issue with these is my only concern

I own the cream dial and I adore it. Best watch I have ever owned and I have owned a lot of watches. Just love the quality and simplicity of a hand winding watch

Hi Alex, awesome options. Help me out with this minor detail, i noticed that’s the lugs of the SPBG289 (pink dial) is a little different from the other 2. The SPBG289 lugs look a little more angular. Am i wrong?

Its based on a different case :) so different case design overall (44GS)
