The bot that you showed at 6:36 is named bluebolts and he's actually not a real bot but rather it was designed to be the gun that rid ultra magnus wields. Basically, in short, he's a bot that turns into a gun and the designers thought that it'll be cool to give the gun a robot mode and it's size is a deluxe size.

RID 2001 Prime's super mode makes me think of the Megaman X 1 armour. Trimmed white, a BIT more ornate, but still clearly the same guy inside. And I don't say that as a negative. I love the simplicity of the X1 armour, and I think it looks pretty cool here.

RiD Optimus Prime was called Fire Convoy in Japan. "Omega Prime" was the name for the Optimus/Ultra Magnus combined form. And I'm not looking forward to him because I already have an RiD Optimus Prime, and that 2001 figure was already what I'd classify as a "modern toy". It looked basically identical to how he did on the show and had joints in all the essential places. When they re-do G1 characters it's exciting because most of their original figures were bricks that barely looked anything like their show counterparts, but with stuff like this there really isn't a point. At best it's the equivalent of an expensive reissue.

Omega Prime was his name in America for RiD. In Japan with Car Robots he was called God Fire Convoy. Because Ultra Magnus was called God Magnus in Car Robots. Bluebolts is Ultra Magnus' gun that he had but they decided to turn it into a transformer/weaponizer because of how big it is.

I am like 99% sure that this incarnation has a separate head for omega prime. Look closely, blue eyes gold trim. Prime’s super mode has silver chrome trim on the antennae and yellow eyes. The price is a tough pill to swallow but it looks like he’s going to do literally everything I could ask of him. I share your sentiment on the Sideswipe and Shard. I REALLY want to get my hands on all the rock guys. And Chase, I liked Rescue Bots when I saw it for the first time a year ago, shockingly good and coherent series all things considered. Chase was easily the best "fish out of water when it comes to humor" type of character I've seen in a long time since he's so direct and un-comedic.

IIRC, in Japan Optimus is Fire Convoy, Omega Prime is -Autobot God- God Fire Convoy, and Ultra Magnus _might_ have been God Magnus. *Edit:* Corrected as per @BlitzkriegOmega 's reply. What I do remember is that even in English, Ultra Magnus' weapon was named Blue Bolts. Anyway, I can't afford it, but I'm happy Omega Prime is getting a redo. Not that the original toy doesn't hold up, but RiD2001 needs more love. It doesn't go completely ignored, but we only get bits and pieces here and there.

Shard (the new rock) is honestly making me want to get the other two. I thought they looked okay, but she (using that until official reveal says otherwise) just looks so much cooler than any weaponizer we’ve gotten. What I cannot fathom is why they need almost two years before shipping this guy. They announced him at the end of January 2024 with a release of Fall/Autumn 2025! That's 20 months until September, and 22 if it's November. They announced a toy so early that it's the amount of time between when a congressman is sworn in and the next election. (Begins in January and next election is Nov of the next year).

@@PerspectiveEnd Yeah, on the website it says expected to ship Fall 2025, and other announcements, such as Mexico's announcement continued using that date. I find it odd simply because the prototypes were depicted as so close to completion that they seem to just need to be cast in the correct material and shipped out. I wonder if this is like that Armada Optimus they showed off forever ago, where it looked like a nearly finished product, but was in fact a non-transforming prototype with fake transformation seams.

I agree with you on Chromia. And the solution is so simple they'll never use it: just call it Animated Chromia. We have seen Hasbro use, reuse and sometimes abuse repaints and redecos turning the nth production on a model into a G2 or a Diaclone figure. With Animated, there is plenty of fanart giving the Animated treatment to this or that character. This would work.

I don't get why people though Animated Omega Supreme was going to be a Haslab. With the recent titans Hasbro has clearly shown interest in branching away from G1 for Titans and doing especially designed titans with cohesive alternate modes. Frankly it's a bit rediculous to have expected it considering TFA is probably the single most recognizable titan outside of G1. Guys, they're going to do him in mainline, they just want some distance from the Kingdom Ark. Omega Prime is the name of Optimus' combination with Ultra Magnus. In Japan he was Fire Convoy, and the combined mode was God Fire Convoy which is the only time where a Convoy name has actually sounded cool. Why he's not called Ultra Prime I'll never know, because not only would it be an actual combination of Ultra Magnus and Optimus Prime but it also just in general feels better to say. The Japan one is called God Fire Convory because he's a combination of Fire Convoy and God Magnus, and look how well that turned out. No yeah you aren't crazy, I've always struggled with telling the difference between the full Optimus combination and the Omega Prime combination. This is actually the first time I've realized he has actually different heads in my entire life, I literally thought that in universe his head came from inside him and was the same in both combinations because its the same brain and stuff and the toys just couldn't replicate it due to engineering limitations. At least this time around the Ultra Magnus armor looks better than the Optimus trail- rest of his alt mode. I HATED the look of his chest with the Magnus hips just hanging out there, so the new panel replacing them with the same colours looks leagues better and more finished. The overall better proportions definitely help it too, especially since that's damn near the only thing the original was even lacking at.

@@PerspectiveEnd I'm saying there's a pretty decent chance. Especially with the Animated stuff in Legacy. Of the last 3 Titans 2 have been ships, and two have been non G1. So that's also something. I certainly think it's more likely than an Energon Omega Supreme. When I said I thought they were intended to be the same head I meant it as something I actually liked. I hate that Ultra Magnus because he looks stupid, so I'm glad his stupid looking but is becoming armor for Optimus and Optimus is in complete control. Because seriously, of the three guys in the franchise who explode to be weapons and armor for Optimus Ultra Magnus is just the worst. His proportions sure suck, but even if they were evened out he just looks lame. And if you know me, I actually like funky proportions, but it only works when the design actually leans into it. Magnus is an ordinary uninteresting guy who's had his body horrifically mangled and reassembled to be this bizzare thing and it's so out of place. And then NOBODY else in the show looks like that. Except other characters had designs that could work with those proportions, like if it was on one of the car Autobots it wouldn't look any worse or if it was on a predacon it would look business as usual. I don't understand how the three mainline movie Jetfires that combine with a respective Optimus all have cohesive proportions for their designs while Magnus couldn't even though Car Robots absolutely felt like it was designed by 2009 standards and "You aren't ready for that yet, but your kids are gonna love it" kicked in.

I feel shame because I can't see Waspinator in Shard. My only thoughts are "Holy shit that is the HARDEST looking transformer I have ever seen! Everything about it looks so god damn cool!" But I'm absolutely digging the vibe of how he looks like a giant chunk of raw Energon just decided to be a living transformer one day. This has solidly cemented the Infernacs as being far cooler than the Rock Lords ever were. Though granted that was already a low bar. Also just a side, but it's nice to have an entire year of evil weaponizers. We've had so many Autobots and it's gotten tiring. Also this is the second Deluxe Helicopter in the recent generations line. Previous was Spinister. Ain't that wild?

I'm definitely getting the RID Prime. I got Deathsaurus as my 1st haslab and he was amazing, but as a base Prime is coming with so much more, and seeing how it got 5,000 out of the 10,000 backers in 1 day I'm sure is safe to say it'll be funded. Even the bonus tiers like the sword that's nearly twice his height

The deluxe rock helicopter does look really nice the colour layout is satisfying. The bluebolt deluxe with the Haslab was a Japan exclusive thing for RID prime, I also don’t know why people are upset with it when star saber was 180$ when this is an extra 70 that more than makes up for the price. Prime and magus are big commanders that do everything they need to do like Magnus can carry deluxe cars, heck they seems to be bigger than the past 2 Haslab. There’s also a lot of well painted details and vac metal details which we wouldn’t get at retail it might be more hollow as a retail release.

When I was watching it live, after they told us everything in the package I guessed it would cost 250. The offering is good and the engineering, from listening to others, sounds tight. I keep hearing people talking about the cost of molds and shipping and whatnot saying it should be cheaper but they always seem to forget that dude with a masters degree in engineering created it. good engineers are not cheap to hire and Transformers need to have good engineering to be worth buying. So ya I think I would be balking if this price was 300 or more but 250 sounds like the goldylocks zone to me. I always regreted that I never got these as a kid because I really enjoyed RID2001 heres hoping we get mainline releases of those quirky autobot contructacons. :)
