In today’s video, I’ll be sharing my opinion & discussing whether or not I believe trucking is dead. I need some clarification from people who feel like trucking is dead. Please help me wrap my head around your thought process. Thanks in advance.

Trucking will never be dead. Slow, yes, but never dead. Those (in my opinion) who say trucking is dead probably came in when trucking was booming. Now that it’s slow, they can’t handle the down time. Those who leaving…… BYE BYE. More loads for those who don’t quit.

I started working at a company called Genesis, we deliver to 7/11 - I will say its not HARD work but lots of hours, 12-13hrs some days - pay is anywhere from $260 to $410 depending on the route - sweet spot is $380 a day - Take home $1200 - $1300 weekly - without bonuses - Trucking is DEAD if you DONT wanna work! That being said, working on getting into IT. Been watching you since before I got my CDL, youre the man.

I’m in tech and I got laid off last year. Took me 7 months to find something “a ok” and I’m now making about 20k less than last year. I still keep my cdl under my sleeve but since I haven’t driven a truck in over 5 years I must likely might need to got otr or something to refresh my driving skills before jumping local, however I’m still in IT and applying everyday to get more money and companies now want a whole B.S and Certs otherwise these companies will lowball you. Just had to turn down a job they wanted me to be a network admin/ security analyst/ Desktop Support, Project Manager for 45-50k. My point is A LOT of industries are hurting atm. If you switch to tech, make sure you do it cause you like it. Don’t do it only cause of the money potential or for “job security “. OFC everyone’s situation is different.

These truckers mindsets are dead. Dead wrong that is. No proper preparation mentally for the trucking field what so ever. Some people get in the trucking industry and they have great trucking jobs making great money from the jump and they never speak bad on trucking cause it was never there experience. But the majority of truckers young & older want see that kind of great start. So you have to educate yourself mentally for the ups and the downs. Not😢 mentally preparing yourself for possibly having to spend a year to 6months over the road initially entering the trucking world, will break any truckers will. Just prepare yourself and stay mentally tough, and the good days will come.

Trucking industry is definitely not dead, by far. In my opinion, there are certain lanes that are getting affected because of different reasons. I have been driving for 10 years. Starting in food service (PFG) to now presently Walmart, I haven’t missed a beat in earning consistent money. I think certain jobs, and certain people’s want or needs for more time at home isn’t matching up to what they would like to be making consistently. Just my opinions! Stay safe in them roads always!

@@imanthonytv….and not to be harping on anyone at all but you also have a lot of people who do not like to follow rules, regulations, and policies of the company due to bad driving habits and that’s make them stay out there in that water. I’m only speaking in this fact because I have several friends that I try to get over on the Walmart referral program and they all say Walmart is too strict, too many rules, and will get rid of you for small stuff……etc etc etc, so that plays a factor. Now Walmart will fire you fire acting stupid without thinking twice about it ✌️

It’s not just trucking, oilfield is dead as well! It will not be like it was 6 years ago for a minute until those wars stop overseas!! During the great depression in 1929 the food trucks were the only ones really making it cause people need to eat and restaurants will not close so yes the food delivery driver will make good money right now

Though there’s exceptions to every situation I honestly don’t believe trucking is dead. The are certain portions that are drying, but the industry as a whole is still alive. I’ve been hauling fuel for 21 years and I’m not making the money I use to make, but working more hours than I used to. There’s entire terminals on the west coast that have been laid off due to the drop in fuel demand and we’re seeing an average of a 20% decline in work here in East Tennessee. The fact that the pay has regressed over the years instead of moving forward is one of the reasons why I’m looking to move on. There has been many many former co-workers that have went to LTL and are working less hours and making far better pay than we are. So the best advice that I can give is to do your due diligence and research research research before making any decisions.

: "Another thing with people saying trucking is dead, y’all think it’s making people consider even becoming a truck driver. Especially when people go through companies to get their license, they don’t have that many options to go to. Mega carriers aren't really paying that much without experience. Owner operators are saying trucking is dead because they're not making much there taking home to what you would make local I’m still fine with $1500 a week after taxes local.

Trucking ain't dead people come into this industry with the "100k my first year" mind frame but they be in for a rude awakening when the real reality of trucking sets in. You have to start at the bottom before you get to the top and that's evident in trucking.

Logistics run the world. Plane, trains and automobiles to include trucks will always be in demand. Being in demand doesn’t mean you run a play that you never researched. If you talking money with experience a company driver can make 10k a week the same with an O/O but how??? It comes down to experience that leads to learning the business of trucking and also the niche side of trucking. One can always start out with dry vans and reefers but!!!!! Entry level jobs in any career field will lead to not a lot of money and becoming lazy. In trucking starting at flatbed going into step deck and multiple axles to heavy haul is how it’s done. Entry level to supervisor, to manager, to CEO. Niche for instance car hauling. Regular car hauling, to contract hauling, to enclosed hauling making upwards of 40k a month take home!!!!! You can’t start out sitting at a desk and think that one skill set will evolve your skillet to money unless you’re into computers which require certs, always training etc. So if you into trucking learn the game and learn what company’s pay and why they pay. Learn O/O and why it pays based off what you moving!!!! Crumbs to bricks 🧱 let’s get it!!!
