I always thought of looksmaxing as a positive thing. I didnt realize people were doing these extreme things in the name of looksmaxing. Self improvement is great but you just arent going to be attractive to everybody. So strive to be the best version of yourself and learn to embrace the fact that you are not perfect. In terms of mewing, I think it’s pretty undisputed by orthodontists that it’s important for good childhood jaw development. The problem really comes in when adults HARD-Mew. When they do excises to try and split their palatial suture with the sheer force of their tongue. This (especially when done poorly) can cause all kinds of complications, especially if one already suffers from TMJD. I’m 25, and the act of simply closing my mouth, properly raising my tongue, breathing through my nose, and swallowing against my palate truly has changed me for the better. Not only has it actually changed my appearance as my double chin has completely picked up, but the buccal mass of my cheeks hollowed out, but my breathing is more relaxed and my sense of smell has improved 10x. It also put some other postural corrections on my radar (i.e. anterior head posture or anterior pelvic tilt). It’s important to take what nuggets of wisdom one can, and don’t throw the baby out with the bath water

Remember, looks-maxing is just one part of the equation. Courtney is right about becoming a better man from the inside-out. The more I read and listen to positive podcasts and comedy, the better my interactions with others become. Women do value looks, but a good woman is looking for who you are on the inside. I have a friend who is very short and he build a career, does crossfit, and has 3 girlfriends in open relationships. They're all taller than him. I'm telling you: good women want a man with a good heart and mind.

I can confirm that mewing worked for me starting at around 16. It was worth it because It only took a month to learn and ended up blessing me a chin. so it can work post puberty/late puberty

As a women, I remember years since I was a freshman in college and obsessing over buying things and changing things about myself physically. And it was torture. And as a woman dating in New York City it was so costly to be even considered "mid." But I was able to get over that through counseling over many years. And I wouldn't wish that torture on anyone! The torture of focusing so intensely on how to make yourself "hotter" every minute of everyday. And even men! Its horrible to know that so many men are experiencing this now. Of course body dysmorphia has always been thing men have suffered from too but it's to a new degree and scale I can't help but personally empathize with. Great of you Courtney to talk about this! So I'm pretty insecure about my teeth. I have a minor under-bite that has caused the teeth of my upper jaw to come in crooked with gaps. My whole life I've had issues with smiling and just a lack of confidence. So I recently decided to look into doing something about it. The first oral implant center I spoke to suggested getting dental caps on ALL my front teeth. It was an affordable option AND can be done in just a few weeks. Sounds great, right? Well, they basically wanted to grind down my existing teeth into little nubs and glue fake teeth on top. I did some homework and found it's not only irreversible and can cause some longtern health issues. Plus every 10sh years you need new caps, so you're spending like $10k+ every 10 years. I then went to two dentists and a highly rated orthodontist to see if invisalign was a better option. All gave me the same answer. I could do invisalign to help my smile a little, but I would def need upper-jaw surgery if I ever wanted a 'normal' smile. Basically they would detach my upper jaw, move it forward a little, and then re-attach it with bolts. It's incredibly invasive, costly, and I'm sure takes time to fully recover. I'm going to talk to a oral surgeon about the procedure just to weigh my options. But at this point, I'm thinking fuck it. I'll just accept I don't have a beautiful smile. I'm still a great guy regardless. If a girl can't see that and gets hung-up on my imperfect teeth, she's clearly not the one for me.

Only to then spend years and god knows how much money regretting it. I'm just not willing to go that far. I'd rather focus my energy fixing the things that are well within my power. Completely agree with this. I see at my sales job how staff treat each other and customers solely based on looks and it is something I notice in public too. Also as a short man at 5'7 I don't think Courtney truly understands how disheartening it is to see constant height bashing on every social media platform and dating app. I am at the point where I am a grain of sand of giving up on dating fully. I can handle my friends casually joking about my height but to see women on dating apps who I would date disqualify me before meeting me just because I'm a little short (which I can't change) is actually heartbreaking.

My son at about that age started lifting weights (for baseball pitchers exercises at first) and had to start eating 4000 calories a day (he said that was hard to do). In a few years his weight was up and he had put on 20 lbs. Some years later he's now around 190 lbs (he's taller). If you're older, get into the gym and start eating. Then watch your life change. It did for me as It got me jobs (in engineering no less) over slobs competing for the same position.

I’ve been diagnosed with body dysmorphic disorder since I was 15. Meaning I literally see my face different then how everyone else sees it. It causes severe depression, and suicidal thoughts since the age of just 12 years old I hyper fixated on the little imperfections on my face. It got so bad when I was 16 I took a razer to my face because I didn’t feel like it was handsome enough even tho I’ve had multiple women tell me otherwise. I used to wish I had different parents so I looked a curtain way which caused unjustifiable resentment. I’ve been doing this whole “looks maxing thing” since I was a little constantly on skincare, changing my hairstyle, and color, all while absolutely hating every part, and imperfection on my face to the point I’ve almost taken my own life. I’m not writing this to be like “oh poor me” all I’m saying it constantly fixating on your appearance does nothing good for you or anyone else in your life. There’s a different between basic self care, and then there’s a point where it becomes absolutely insane. Be weary of hormonal change drugs. If it works for you with no side effects, then awesome and I’d definitely say continue doing it. However, you could fuck your hormones up for life including low sperm count that never return to normal (despite what the science says, these cases absolutely exist and aren’t just placebo). I have never heard or seen someone who lost a girl because of his hair. It’s typically because they show their insecurity. Embrace your height and your hair loss. Even if you have to lie to yourself. Courtney says that looksmaxxing preys upon men with insecurities. At the end of the day, you don’t need to looksmax if you aren’t insecure. Boost everything else (teeth, clothing, hygiene, smell, personality, communication, etc.). What is frustrating for me, is that I do all of these things already, and have for years. I take care of myself in every way possible. The way i have always believed is that if you dont take care of yourself, how can you ever be expected to take care of someone else? I never thought I would say this but sometimes I just feel like giving up on all of that. Sadly, the only women that seem to be interested are what I call older women. I've made that mistake before. How can I ever expect to have a family like that? The clock is ticking as I am middle aged and will turn 48 on March 15th. I have alot to offer someone. But particularly women just don't seem to notice it. In my area, women seem to like men of lower standards. I don't have bulging muscles or face tattoos or drive around with a bass system in my car like I'm still 19. I grew up. I don't know if I'm in the wrong area or not? I'm in Springfield, Ohio...I'm from Dayton. I'm in a real pickle.

There's a KZbinr called Hoe_Math that does a fantastic job explaining what women generally think about and value when it comes to dating. I suggest giving his "zones" video a look to see what you might need to work on. Also, have you ever considered moving? Maybe a change of scenery is what you need. As the old saying goes, " If the fish aren't biting in the lake that you're at, then go to a different spot." Where you currently live, there are factors that are out of your control, like scarcity. So, it makes sense to put yourself in a position that favors you. At the end of the day, it's your life, and you must decide what you're willing to do.

To me, it mainly consist of 3-4 steps: take care of your body, take care of your mental health, improve your style (weather it's clothing, hair style). Breathing through your nose when possible except during extreme exercise does help facial structure. In addition to this, eating food you have to ACTUALLY chew also does improve your oral structure as well. Andrew Huberman has videos on this. It's worth looking up.

Perspective from a 23 yr old guy who is "looksmaxing", engaging with that kind of content - I'm not objectively handsome, I'm not charismatic, I'm not making a lot of money, I'm pretty introverted and don't do a lot of conventionally fun things, I love doing stuff at home and just going out on occasion. Also, Im a "nice guy" as opposed to a badboy. With all of that basic stuff said, I have never had a girlfriend - despite my embarrassingly strong effort put into trying to get into a relationship. The exception is this one girl that just completely used me. So I asked myself the question, "why can't I even get a date?" I researched all of the conventional "be yourself" type of advice, and it got me nowhere. Then i discovered looksmaxxing and everything seemed to make sense. If i was more handsome, had more money, and had a "better personality" then that will probably increase my ability to get a girlfriend. It gives me an extreme level of motivation that someday all the effort might be worth it. I'm not stupid, and I'm not depressed, I'm just trying to do what it really takes for a guy like me to get a girlfriend some day. If anyone has questions or wants to discuss, Im open.

Women like courtney are out of touch with how shallow many women are in America. I've noticed she always make sure to insert the message "every girl is different" in her videos, while ignoring the existence of narrow beauty standards that impacts the lives of guys who don't conform to them. I think its disingenuous to ignore trends that shows certain physical traits are valued more than others, because otherwise people will assume everyone's struggles are equal and there shouldn't be any societal intervention to correct them.

While she may genuinely believe that statement, the part that she doesn't say out loud is 'looks aren't everything, you need to be educated and successful as well', which is true for her AND is actually the complete opposite of the message she's trying to send out in this video. What are some of your hobbies? Are they things you do by yourself? IF they can be done with others trying to join a club/group where you can meet people. Doesn't even have to be to meet a woman, just to meet people. The more friends and people you meet, obviously the more people you'll meet haha. And then through those connections you can find that special someone perhaps. I don't know you personally of course but a lot of people who complain are spending too much time on the internet, or are using a dating app where the chances are just super slim and most men/women aren't that serious. Just living your life authentically and being social can get you pretty far and if you have trouble with social skills, they'll just improve. If you do resort to apps, it might be more worth your time to use a more exclusive paid one than the Wild West like Tinder. Don't get down on your luck though or pity yourself. Never seen a guy get a girl out of pity.

Apparently my jaw sticking out like it does is caused by all the hard homemade granola and beef jerky I ate as a kid. It’s too late when the growth plate is set for any of the musculature nonsense to work. I also have a condition that reflexively relaxes my muscles so tone is terrible for me, so I go for size not tone. Don’t think about it too much just brush your teeth and the plate of your mouth and do something like pushups daily. None of my siblings have the wide jaw ends I have, 1 difference I ate all the hard foods i loved chewing things LOVED chewing and crunching tough foods as a kid

Evolution makes no sense when nothing has evolved after thousands of years of human history and supposedly the first creature came from primordial sludge several millions of years ago funny how they won't believe that God an Eternal Almighty Spirit Being created us from the Earth) which came from a supermassive expansion of matter at high temperature that inexplicably created everything in the known universe that supposedly came from nothing billions of years ago. How did the organs evolve before there were bones, skin, substance and how did any creatures see before eyes evolved? I've studied evolution and abiogenesis in the past and read Darwin's " Origin of The Species" and I'm not convinced of macro Evolutionary biology whereas I accept micro Evolution like speciation and adaptation but not macro Evolution because there's no evidence of it nor clear observable examples of it where living creatures evolve into other kinds of species plus the fact that fossils don't show evidence of evolution and genetic entropy rules out evolution. The question begs how did two genders evolve from a common ancestor with a perfectly hospitable and sustainable environment with breathable oxygen and resources to survive on inexplicably? Atheists have the burden of proof to explain how everything came to be and why our existence is possible without the Existence of God from an godless perspective just as Christians have to provide evidence of God's Existence and the validity of His Word. Evolution requires life to already exist in order to take any effect in living organisms so it doesn't account for the existence of Life and reality. Also evolution is impossible because it goes against The Law of entropy and the second Law of thermodynamics because evolution makes things better whereas nothing continues to get better but decays and turns to absolute destruction in the end. Mark Ridley an Evolutionist said "No evolutionist whether gradualist or punctuationist uses the fossil record as evidence in favor of The Theory of Darwinian Evolution as opposed to special Creation". God's Existence is made perfectly known and observable in the universe as demonstrated in His Handiwork in the intelligently designed manner that Creation was made, human consciences and consciousness historical and archaeological evidence of God's Word being valid history, fulfillment of Bible Prophecies God in His Holiness and Righteousness could give us what we deserve in Hell for our since but He's merciful to give us free will to choose to accept or reject His gift of salvation by grace through faith in His Son Jesus. I think there's a fine line between grooming and maintaining hygiene vs undergoing a bunch of cosmetic procedures in the hopes of changing your fundamental appearance. What we should be aiming for is natural upkeep instead of spending excessively on artificial interventions. But yeah, men can always compensate for subpar looks by improving other areas of their lives. The problem with this trend is that its proponents believe physical appearance is the sole criterion for gauging attractiveness. It basically boils down the complexity of attraction to a single variable.

I think it all comes down to being realistic about what you can or can't do to improve yourself. When it comes to attracting women, they are more complex than men are. What I mean is that they generally value a whole lot of other things as well. So, what you lack in looks can be made up for by being competent and showing confidence. I believe dating apps and the media have played a significant role in giving both men and women unattainable beauty standards.
