this was dicki moltisanti's story. moltisanti literally means many saints. In the time dicki's story takes place, tony is too young for that event to transpire. in case you missed it, Jackie was part of the ice cream heist, and you literally watch tony realize what kind of business his "family" is in as he goes from a child to a young man. The development is he doesn't understand it, then he rejects it after dicki distances himself, then he longs for it after dicki's death and that sets him on the path to become who he is. idk what more you could want or what movie you watched but everything you're asking for is either non-applicable or already there.

I think it was a brilliant movie with nuances like having Tony meet Dickie at Holsten's (which didn't obviously happen, but made my skin crawl), answering the question I have long knew the answer to (that Tony lied to Chrissy about how his father was killed) and why Tony was a subtle racist. I agree that they crammed too much story into one movie. This would have been a fantastic miniseries. The whole movie could have been spread over a dozen episodes ending in Dickie's death. In that scenario, all the characters could be flushed out. As for "social justice", you must be new to historic fiction and to David Chase. The historic Newark Rce Riots were important IRL plot devices in the series, mentioned numerous times and involved in many plots. If you think David Chase would base a prequel in the Newark riots and NOT use it as an opportunity to introduce a character who is victim of both the protagonist AND law enforcement, then you don't know Chase at all.

did you guys even watch the movie? how are you going to fail to mention that Liotta plays his own twin brother in prison? you literally show a picture of the prison character but narrate it as dicki's father. no, that would be his uncle.

If u notice tony throws carmrla off when hes fighting the kid just like how he did the same when he fought bobby

What pisses me off, is Silvio Dante in the series is born in 1957 and was a childhood friend of Tony's... yet in 1967, Tony is 7 or 8, but Silvio is already a respected member of the DiMeo crime family? What the hell is that bullshit?

MSON should’ve been precise for being a “Prequel-Like, Soprano Story.” While it wasn’t bad, it should’ve been better!

The ages dont line up. Chrissy says during the Uncle Pat's farm episode that Tony was about 8-9 years older...This scene would put him at least 15 years older.
@TheThing20113 жыл бұрын
Because they wanted James’s son to be in it but also wanted to show what happened to Dickie so they retconned the ages

05:20 "But there is no indication in this scene that they are a couple yet". Yes there is. She is wearing Tony's varsity letterman jacket. In US culture, a boy gives a girl his letterman jacket as a "going steady" gift which also serves as a "she's taken" warning to other potential suitors. No, they are definitely dating in that scene. Edit: Also, did you see how she was staring at Tony after he borrowed a dime at the payphone? They were clearly dating. Did you even watch the movie, Looper writers?
@davids31103 жыл бұрын
In the trailer, the narrative voice, in the beginning, is a simulated James Gandolfini voice. But in the movie it's Chris voice.
