I have sold most of my sequencers since getting this. Its truly genius for hands on people who hate menus. Huge respect for all of the magic they have worked since release, they certainly listened. All we could ask for is 8 cv/gates.

What’s brilliant is that the folks at torso electronics actually added detents to all the endless encoders as well as usb-c at the back! As for the features, most have remained as shown in this video with some just being renamed. The cycles bit now works but tbh it takes a bit of mental gymnastics to understand how to use that feature properly. All in all, solid sequencer! It has churned out 4 scratch ideas in the last couple of hours of use!

Thank you so much for this review! This device is exactly what I've been looking for, and I wouldn't have known about it otherwise. The kickstarter was successful and they did indeed change from micro USB to USB-C and added CV and Gate outputs! I'm really looking forward to my unit, I think it will change the way I compose and improvise greatly!

Initially this video was so compelling that I decided to pre-order a T-1. Now that my unit has finally landed, I’m viewing this again to get all the pro insights. Interesting that in the final version of the unit, some buttons have been renamed: slices -> cycles; melody -> range; curve -> groove; midi ch -> channel + output. Keep on producing quality work. Much appreciated.

@@LondraCalibro9 I’ve watched the Hapax review on this channel as well. I would say that the Hapax is way more capable that the T-1. However the constraints of the T-1 and it’s associated simple workflow makes me more focus on creating something than fiddling with a bunch of options. I also have a Squarp Pyramid and I use it in when I want to precisely sequence a bunch of MIDI instruments. Hope that helps…

Just got one and its really fun. The final product has couple different labels compared to the ones in this video like slices became cycles, melody became range, etc. They listen to Loopop cos the buttons have now steps and not just continuous. Usb-c is there as well. When a manufacturer modifies its product after listening loopop, that s where you know this guy rocks… 😂😂 I think a solo function would be really cool to quickly isolate a track instead of muting all others. Update: theres now up to 64 steps per track (latest firmware 2.0.x)

Another incredible review! Thank you! This is a beautiful and wonderfully useful device...BUT at the price point (about $530US) I would expect a display so I can see my parameters in real time. If this were $50-$100 less I would be in on this first version for sure. But as is I will wait for the next version. This is exactly what I've been looking for though. I think this would complement the NDLR (which I own and have been using for six months now) rather than compete with it, especially if you are talent-less like me and need these little "engines" to grind stuff into the DAW and keep the overall workflow fun.

Thanks! I'm not likely to make a video like that... sorry... first, I believe taste in sound is very subjective, and second, you can probably make good music with any synth since "good" is subjective too. That said, you'll see "recurring stars" on my channel when I check out a sequencer or effect as I'm naturally inclined to use what I like (Sirin, 0-Coast, Peak to name just a few...) though those are often preferred because they're small and fit in the frame alongside other friends... wide angles are hard! So, don't discount their bigger buddies..

I wholeheartedly getting a job (or a better job) and saving up for little luxuries like this. Cool, but not sure. The form factor is perfect to double as a midi controller alongside my Keystep Pro, however its very disappointing it can't even transmit CC. A button combo to turn Local off - would be great so you could transmit CC on a specific midi channel when needed. But, you know - since it's a seq afterall, and given that price, I think it should support a few lanes of CC motion sequencing and/or CC LFO types. And yeah - a trad step-seq would be good, it looks like it might be frustrating if you actually know what you want :)

Does the VOICING knob only add octaves above, or can it be used to actually re-voice or change inversions of the chord?
@loopop
@loopop 4 жыл бұрын
Currently it only adds octaves above, note by note based on the chord you enter. So, sort of inversions but without removing the bottom notes. "addversions" I guess...

@@loopop It would be cool to see it alter a chord using common chord voicings... close, drop 2, spread, etc... Maybe I'll comment on the Kickstarter about that.

I have a T1 setup with my Digitakt but somehow Ive not been able to program chords. Each time I try to make a chord in PITCH mode I only hear the highest note of the chord so if its a CEG chord I only hear the G instead of the whole chord. I use a internal sample of the Digitakt. Can you explain why this doesn`t work?

It's been a while since I used the T-1 but regardless Digitakt doesn't accept chords on a single MIDI channel, do you'll need to program note by note on different channels on the T-1

I'm worried that the bleep to bloop ratio might not be asymptotic to the inverse of a Fibonacci series....

You've reviewed so much gear over the years, I really started to wonder whether you keep it all or sell it or give it away and if you do keep it how that looks
