Dry wall and plaster mud dust are the very worst thing. They infiltrate everywhere! But truly what a difference when that work is all done. I owned a smaller Craftsman house built in 1926 which locals called a story and a half bungalow. It still had much of the old wiring and what are called lathe and plaster walls instead of drywall board. Every upgrade project was different and I never knew what sort of "surprise" would be found. It was so rewarding and I especially loved bringing the neglected yard to life. All the best to you as you find joy in small and grand ideas. 💗

I could sense your excitement,enthusiasm and love you have for your forever home, good on you, yes it's hard on your own when we've been used to doing things and talking about things with someone by your side for so long, I'm also doing up a place BUT nothing as big as yours, without my late husband who was a builder I tend to second guess but I am getting there, slowly, so don't rush you have your whole life ahead of you, yr much younger than me, enjoy the process, I love that you are back, and will also enjoy your updates as you go along, including your courtyard type garden, loved your other one don't forget to enjoy ❤🎉❤🎉🐸

What a lovely home! In the year this was built (UK) people did not have bathrooms. So it used to be a 3 bedroom. They had under bed pots, washed and bathed in the kitchen and had outside toilets. My Nana still had this set up in the 1960's! The tub was tin and was the base of the kitchen table! At least the outside toilet was connected to plumming and flushed! 😁 CONGRATULATIONS on your home! You will make it beautiful! 🏡😊

Floorboards will be very drafty in the winter. If you like the floor board look I've been quite impressed with LVT flooring and it's soft underfoot. Good luck with the renovation. Love the colour/ style of your sitting room chairs

Weve been in our 1930's house for a year and its still like living in a squat because every surface inside and out needs work on it. Hopefully you will be cosy as toast in there this winter with your fire and new central heating, the cats will love it! Wil be a happy home

I downsized to a two bed terraced house a few years ago and I hope it will be my forever home too. I’m impressed by how much you have done already. I have had the floors sanded on the ground floor in several houses now. You can fill the gaps with the sawdust mixed with pva and then apply Danish oil. I swapped damaged boards for ones from a bed room that was to be carpeted or you can stain the new boards (I used a coffee solution once!). I love your new kitchen and bathroom and all the lovely fireplaces.

Jayne the house is so pretty and has a very quaint look about it. I lived in a Victorian terrace house as a child when my family moved to England for a year. The plan is very similar to yours except there was a "box" room next to the bathroom which I suspect might have been a division to make it into a third bedroom. I love the kitchen! You have done so well in such a short time and the house is just so lovely. You are so lucky to have so many of the original features still there. We have just bought a house of the same age and we are going to have to go to the reclamation yard for doors etc as the old ones have long gone. Like you, we also have a ton of renovation to do but we are going to take our time but it is fun planning all the changes. I particularly love your bannister. If this is damaged or changed, it is very difficult and expensive to get them repaired, so you have been very lucky.

I can't believe it I have chosen the same wallpaper and similar cabinets I'm doing an unfitted kitchen my ceilings are 14 foot high it was build in 1890 here in Australia just have to sell our house and hope we get my Federation house. Love yours clothing style we seem to have the same taste.

Jayne, I hope you don't carpet over those floors. Oh my gosh, those wide wooden floor boards are a dream for most people. They are in such great shape. Just sanding and staining is all they need.
