just dont go by the torque recommendation. really snug that shit down. don't over tighten but 17 ft-lb torque is nothing.

How does one get cuts in the handlebar? I got some on Amazon for my Honda and the 2 strips of knurling don't match up to my bar clamps. Is there any way to do this at home, or do I just need to buy new bars?

Bikers have been doing this for 80 years, It's for a temporary fix fool, not a permanent fix.

I've yet to find a permanent fix. Best I've managed is to over-torque by a few ft-lbs but I don't want to strip them. If you've found a permanent fix I'd love to know what works for you.
