That parry thing is pretty awesome. If you actually imagine a scripted fight, it adds more credit to the Hero of Time being awesome for being able to parry Ganon. Imagining that, with all his later genius swordplay, is great.

That way of fighting Ganon is how I fight him nowadays, I parry his attacks a couple of times, Sword-slash him in the face, roll between his legs and strike, I know there are a ton of easier ways, but I just like how exciting and epic that looks.

Back in the day, my friend and I used to look for alternate ways to fight him without using light arrows. Wearing iron boots, Rolling between the legs, shooting with a regular arrow giving us less stun time, using the environment as a distraction etc. Its fun to challenge oneself. I'll have to try this method, add some real energy to the fight

The reason for the corral having such a long invisible wall is because Epona must not be able to climb it when you ride on her before agreeing to race Ingo. The exterior fences of Lon Lon are visually higher and they have such height Epona can jump them

OoT really is a marvel of game design that simply can’t be replicated. It carries concepts and mechanics from the 2D Zelda’s that would make absolutely no sense putting into a 3D game but did anyway because that’s what they knew. For that reason it exists in a very unique space.

At least one piece of Zelda merchandise also depicts Ganondorf's dagger - in 1998 the company BD&A produced a line of Ocarina of Time action figures, and the Ganondorf figure has the dagger. It is molded as a single piece & cannot be drawn, and is glued onto his hip, so it's not usable as an accessory, but it is present.

Lon Lon Ranch, the fence you jump to get to Hyrule field with Epona is taller so my guess is they made the fence around the racetrack with an invisible barrier so people wouldn't skip the race. if you could wouldn't you just take Epona, jump the fences, and say to Ingo "Sayanora sucker!!!"?

If glitches are on the table, I have something that some people call a glitch, but considering how specific _and_ consistent it is, I think it was more of a debug thing. In the Fishing Pond, if you catch a record-breaking fish, then swim to the center of the pond, face the front of the room, go into first person mode, hold Z when Navi isn't flying to any fish, exit first person mode, and make your way to and talk to the pond owner without letting go of Z, turning in the fish will always result in being awarded the Golden Scale. It works on all N64 versions, all Gamecube versions, and the Wii and Wii U virtual console versions. Not sure about NSO or 3D.
@SuperSenshi
@SuperSenshi 2 жыл бұрын
Now I'm curious... what's the maximum size of fish you can get in the pond? Does it have a cap, or is it limitless?
@devonm042690
@devonm042690 2 жыл бұрын
@@SuperSenshi There is a limit, specifically there's a separate limit for both child and adult. As a child, the limit is 10 lb. As an adult, I think the limit is 16 lb, though it might be 18. You're expected to catch at least a 13 lb fish to get the Golden Scale, and you have to be an adult to get it the expected way. Even if there was a 13 lb fish as a child, you'd get the heart piece for turning it in. If this hypothetical scenario was actually possible, and you caught a 13 lb fish for the heart piece, all you'd do is raise the bar beyond the minimum to get the Golden Scale, since a record-breaking fish caught as a child carries over to adult if you haven't already caught a record-breaking fish as an adult by then. The Hylian Loach, which gets released after the fisherman weighs it because it's an endangered species, is almost 30 lb, but you always get a purple rupee for that, not to mention the special characteristics of the fish that require their own consideration when trying to catch it, so it doesn't count. The method I mentioned can be done as a child. In fact it's the first trick done in a very challenging challenge run. Honestly, I only thought to bring it up because the glitch that allows you to skip Ganon's Trials by unloading the barrier is the last trick in that same run.
@SuperSenshi
@SuperSenshi 2 жыл бұрын
@@devonm042690 Ah, okay. I didn't know if you could break the record, leave, re-enter, and break the record again.
@devonm042690
@devonm042690 2 жыл бұрын
@@SuperSenshi You can break the record multiple times in one fishing session. It's just that there's a limit to how many times you can break the record, because eventually you run out of bigger fish. Also, as the pond owner says you can only keep one fish. That means if you want to turn in every record-breaking fish you catch you have to return to the counter for a weigh-in each time. After you weigh-in your fish, if it's a record breaker it goes in the display tank at the counter. If you catch a fish that doesn't break the current record but you choose to keep it, you can just catch a bigger one and you'll be asked if you want to release your previous catch.
