I didn’t find one I knew until the Special music one. And I’ve 100%’d this game soooo many times. It’s top-5 in my top 100 games list. So good job!

knew a handful of these but definitely learned a lot. I remember me and my cousin trying to complete Star Road when my mom made us eat dinner. That Theme started playing and we both looked at each other and ran back into the bedroom to see what happened!😂

1, 3, 5, 8, 9, 11, and 12 were explicitly taught in Nintendo Power and the official Nintendo Player's Guide. ...But you made my day with that Pokey totem.
@murphmariotwopointoh77142 жыл бұрын
Some of these I actually didn't know about before. Nice job! Minor nitpick though at 2:53, those are actually Cheep Cheeps. Blurps are the green fish enemies with goggles. Though the confusion makes sense, they're similar-looking fish enemies and Super Mario Maker (2) turns Blurps into a variant for the Cheep Cheep in the SMW-style.

After like 30+ yrs I learnt something new and fun that are for regular players too, not just speed runners. Thanks a ton!

Quite a lot of these are more glitches than details, but that makes them more interesting. Imagine Mario Maker with double items or items while climbing? Well, guess that's what Kaizo's for!

I remember when I first saw this game as a kid while my parents were at some dinner party and the son had a SNES with this game. I remember sitting on the bed playing it for quite awhile as the adults all did their silly eating and talking. It was so magical to me! 🥰❤️

1:20, I love the castle theme. Mysterious and catchy too.
@ZeroZmm2 жыл бұрын
It's not really a secret or anything special but it's something I always like to do when I play SMW. Fences count as if though you're jumping, so if you climb a fence and sit on enough Koopas, you get easy 1-ups. It's really easy to do in the first castle since there are a lot of them in a simple pattern.
@lunarkomet2 жыл бұрын
Some of these are so random, I love it
@daviddeanthehumanjuggernau61822 жыл бұрын
I knew most of these that vine cape is how I got to the second exit on cheese bridge and another stage to reach max multi coin block is in forest of illusion 3 when you have a cape. Very interesting to watch.

One fact is that you can practically spin jump on everything in SMW. A few examples of spin jumpable enemies are boos, lava bubbles, the poison bubbles in ghost houses, and blarggs.
@IvanFranco1202 жыл бұрын
Even on sawblades is posible.

True. One weird exception is the bony beetle when the spikes are out. Since you can spin jump sawblades it makes no sense.

7:40 that isn't the only instance of a 1-up mushroom appearing by performing a specific series of movements. It's not even the first! The first is in Donut Plains 1. Another is in the Vanilla Ghost House, requiring one to step on platforms near the beginning in a specific order. Yet another is on Cookie Mountain, requiring running across clouds. Yet another is in Wendy's Castle, requiring another counter-clockwise maneuvering around a gray block near several grinders. Big Boos may also be killed by sliding across the ground with your cape open like a parachute. Suffice it to say, when it was "discovered" that slope sliding can also kill them, my reaction was, "Wait, people DIDN'T extrapolate that from the cape sliding?!?" Didn't know about the cape trick with the shell; I thought something like that was only possible by hitting randomly-spawning Bullet Bills. Oh, here's one: when riding Yoshi, it is possible to slide UPHILL!
@murphmariotwopointoh77142 жыл бұрын
Those 1-UP spawners are actually four separate level objects according to Lunar Magic. Also, that's actually not the first place those 1-UP spawning objects appear. There's actually some at the start of Yoshi's Island 4 sitting above the screen.

My favorite trick is in the Vanilla Secret level with the jumping paratroopas. Go to the middle of the level where there are a bunch of spinies and grab the Gray P-Switch. Bring it back to just about where the jumping troopas end, and press it. If you're quick enough you should be able to rack up a full 99 lives because after a while each gray coin that spawns will award you with a 1up and collecting enough of them will result in 3ups over and over.

@Shmey2 жыл бұрын
First three, I was like, "Yeah. I figured those out on my own. I wonder if I'll know the rest." I didn't. Was a really cool vid, though! I don't know how common knowledge tricks are in SMW, but another thing I figured out was how to change direction while flying. If you use your second attack button and press the other way, you'll go back to flying once you stop spinning.

Never knew about holding an item in Mario's hands while riding Yoshi. So if Mario is carrying 2 items with double item carry, and Yoshi is eating an item, Mario can carry a total of a whopping 3 items at once... never needed for 96 exit but interesting mechanic nonetheless! Great job on the vid 👍

Interestingly the Yoshi in that artwork is done in the exact same style as ones in the super Mario world manual. I couldn't find any specific promotional art though that matched it, or find a source for that artwork, other than a deviantart of the Yoshi for koopshikinggeoshi that might just have been a recolour anyway.
