I think the commentary is good .For an audience in 2020 it dissolves prejudices that awareness of male / female structural inequalities in ancient times were non existent . The repetition we need to remember is part of its musicality ……..hypnotic .Stunning ……..thanks Lora great mahi (Maori for work)

So have had the Tain in my head for a while including starting over listening and then managed to get a concussion, managed to save my cat though by landning on my side and head ( very lucky in landning in a way so that he is ok) and getting an arm between me and the floor could have been much much worse tbh.

I used to have a book Called Irish folk and Fairy Tales by Eileen O Faolaín. Wish you would get it and narrate it from start to finish.

Great reading and commentary. I also highly recommend Gregory Frost's Tain, it is a great novelization of the translations. I believe it stays true to the story while making it easier and more enjoyable for many non literary scholars. It was my first experience with The Tain and lead me to the literary translations of other authors.

Oh I’d love a translation in a book that removed all the thee, thou, asketh, thine stuff. A modern translation. It’d be so much more accessible.

I'm confused, why didn't you use the Kinsella or Carson versions as they're regarded as best. They're much more engaging flow wise - none of this "quoth" and "forsooth"
