This would've been such a great episode to have Brandon on with all the honorary purple hearts he's got.

This is something that I have given a great deal of thought to , at one point in time I wanted to splatter my own brains against a wall . An this was due to the loss of my wife , an being convinced that I wasn't meant to be happy . I still go through bouts of depression , but they don't seam to control me that much anymore. Thank you guy's for being you , love BBRC an hopefully you will keep this up

I was Deployed in 1991 and Eli is sooooooo right. We were shelled by our own Artillery for 45 minutes and I got blown up and that concussion and over pressure Fucked me up. Fortunately I wasn't hurt too bad and was able to crawl back to get cover under the radio table in the Op Center.....

This is really great advice. I'm not a veteran but I've been through a lot of bad shit and this is exactly the right advice to get through traumatic events and move on.

It is definitely the concussion. I have a TBI from a work injury from 15+ yrs ago and I still can't listen to loud music, get shaken hard, I walk softly to not shake my head..... geez, my kids wanted to put them on a merry-go-round, and the bobbing up and down of the floor made me sick. Still to this day. I hope yours got better and you can deal with it my friend. Best of luck, and u have my prayers. Edit: I remember the Superman feeling too! I got up and ran and tried to drive myself to where we could call 911. I didn't lose the adrenaline until inside the helo on the way to the hospital.

The concept they are talking about at the end is called "Pyramids Of Loss", a concept I first heard from author David Morris. If we compare our experiences with those of the Holocaust, or the veterans from WW1, we will always know that our know that their experiences outweigh our own. You can fall into a trap of feeling like your experiences are irrelevant. This is not true. Semper gents. Engineer HE up!

It's easy to claim that after past traumas you're all chill when you're getting your VA meds and THC. Can't wait to chill.
