I think the summaries of topics from previous episodes that are themselves summaries of topics from even more previous episodes suggests to me that the telos for Lord of Spirits is when, in the fullness of time, there is a paradigmatic episode that perfectly summarises all of the summaries said before it: a perfect and complete 4th Half where all the wailing and gnashing of teeth about the slow-roll format will cease. If I had to guess, this future 4th Half will be exactly 70--or 72--minutes long.

57:45 I want to propose a correction here: in Hinduism, omnipotence is a thing of the supreme, ultimate and Absolute God. Maybe in other spiritual traditions also, for example the Great Spirit of the North American indigenous.

2:08:28 If Hugh Jackman may not listen, maybe Mickey Rourke does. He played in two films with Orthodox Christian themes, directed by Orthodox Christians: "Man of God", directed by an Orthodox woman, and "21 rubies", directed by an Orthodox priest.

@650Sally , thanks for the notice, but this is irrelevant to my point. I'm pointing towards Mickey, not towards Hugh. Also, these are movies and characters, not the real persons, so it doesn't mean that they reflect the actor's real attitude. A lot of people cursed and mocked Christ in movies, which doesn't mean they are antichrists, and maybe a lot of them are even Christians. Maybe, if there is a pattern of such particular roles or characters from one actor, we can make a point towards a real attitude (and even then not really, without knowing the actor's explanation), but a such, rather positive pattern, seems to exist in Mickey's case. Also, Mickey asked for the priest's blessing, and received it, during one of the filming session (it's in the documentary about the film's production).

42:00 These quotes explain why, in the account of genesis, the sun, the moon and the stars are not mentioned as being created in the first day or days, but in the forth day, right in the middle of the creation week and of the created world, so, intentionally and significantly placed and mixed with, and as important as, all the other created things, neither the beginning of creation, that is God, "in the beginning, God..." , nor the end of creation, that is the man, and, more precisely, the woman.

1:20:10 I wonder, is it heresy to be a supporter of the theory of evolution, if, for instance, a bishop or a priest say that it is wrong, that the theory is false, considering also that there is no official or ecumenical position of the entire Church, for or against evolution, but even that the Church is divided on this issue?

Every time I'm so excited to listen, and then realize I have to turn it off again because this podcast is like 70% joking around and sidetrack commentary.

I was literally thinking the exact same thing myself. All the incessant goofiness is extremely distracting.

I wish the tenor and content align more with the last 15 minutes or so…I gain more from those last few minutes than most of the podcast. Sure, the beginning give us context, but the real nourishment comes from those last few minutes that tell us how we can use the information in useful, practical ways in our day-to-day lives. That’s what matters when it comes down to it.

@@brendabarbosa5923 : I don't have time to listen to a 3 hour podcast to gather the scattered nuggets of gold sprinkled in. Joking around every few minutes makes me lose my focus and my interest. I listen to be educated, not to hang out.

Lol. I see what you mean but that's kind of the brand. It's supposed to be low key. I love the jokes and the nuggets of info and the last few minutes truth bombs.
