The way David Bowie called her the future of music. Her ability to get into your head and paint a picture of what she’s emotionally singing is BEYOND. Everything is technical with her she’s epic and nothing short of boring. Her melodies are futuristic I don’t get how she does it!!!!!

Would love to see a reaction to SZA’s album “ctrl”. Beautiful blend of RnB and hip-hop and includes great features from Travis Scott, Kendrick Lamar and Isaiah Rashad. Lots of people hail her as the “female Frank Ocean”, and while I don’t wholly agree with that, such a comparison is indicative of just how phenomenal this girl is

I took my (then) 9yr old daughter to her 1st concert which was Lorde Melodrama tour. After, I asked her (knowing she had a great time) how she liked it. She said "I loved it, I felt so free." My heart and this album are intertwined because of that.

As you mentioned him, you should probably check out Jack Antonoff/The Bleachers' stuff - his song, "Don't take the money" is a good start. And as others have said, Rina Sawayama's album is a bop. Kind of shooting for 2000s throwback in some of the songs.

Now that I’ve listened to Solar Power a few times, it’s crazy to see how different it is from Melodrama. I still think Melodrama is superior in every aspect, but Solar Power has some great songs. Lorde is amazing.

The funny thing is Green Light was called by Max Martin being theoretically written wrong. He said the rhymes and melodies doesn't make sense and it's not meant for radio. That's the beauty of the entire record that it's so goddamn unique.

Great, great album from Lorde, who is one of my faves in the genre. If you highlighted her songwriting ability, and rightfully so, I look forward to seeing you reacting to Taylor Swift in that sense. 1989, Reputation or Lover would be excellent starting points. It’s so hard to follow up a perfect album with another perfect album and Lorde did it so well(Pure Heroine-Melodrama), as good as Kendrick Lamar (good kid M.A.A.D City - To Pimp A Butterfly)
