Thank you for being so clear, for weeks now I have been looking into sculpting, I am an artist I do alot of modern painting, but I have always been interested in sculpting, I've started out with Daz clay it's going ok but I'm finding it hard to find a good clay, I'm now off to look into the clay you recommend 🙏

NEW SUBSCRIBER ...I can't believe my luck, I have always been interested in so many crafts. Lately my Wife asked me to make her a pot Halloween Pumpkin... hmmm I have never sculpt anything, other than adding to ornaments etc. But I have found myself really enjoying it, although I'm having loads of crack even though I cover everything with polythene bags! It is such a change from Pyrography, Wood turning, drawing and many other different crafts that I dabble in. Your videos are worth their weight in gold to me, so much information, advice, hints, tips and most of all British equivalents and monetary value! Something that other KZbinrs don't bother to include! Sooooooooo much more information... thank you, I'm already looking forward to seeing more of your videos👍😀👍

I am based in the UK. I have purchased Das air drying clay, 0.5mm wire and a sheet of fine wire mesh. I want to make Lund style chess set. I was worried that air drying clay would be very difficult to use fir fine details because it is soft and doesn't really harden...Is this true?
@gueritahernandez944 жыл бұрын
Air dry clay tends to want to dry up on you as you work. You have to soften it by spraying with water and put a damp towel over it when not being worked on. So I don't think it will be too soft.

Can I use that to fix my deer statue in the garden?
@LoreCraft2ndchannel4 жыл бұрын
Dunno sir! Depends on what it's made of, but if you did, you'd need to seal it because this stuff absorbs water otherwise

@LoreCraft2ndchannel4 жыл бұрын
@@snoopylyn9065 I think miliput epoxy putty might be a good idea for that. It's water soluble until it hardens. Once it hardens, its water proof and harder than stone. Here's a link to it, my amazon link: amzn.to/3h03ZJC

Would you consider sculpting Boba Fett... you got mad skills dude ! ....or Gollom ... thanks
@LoreCraft5 жыл бұрын
Gollum maybe someday. I want to do top quality work now, best of my ability, and now that I'm using advanced materials, projects need to be funded as much as possible. Unfortunately, when a character isn't trending, the view counts are low, so I can't count on YT revenues to cover it. That leaves it to Patrons, donors, and commissions, which are too few in number. If someone commissioned him, or did a money pool, I'd get right on it. Silicone costs a fortune, and it's weeks of work to make one of these. Gotta keep the lights on!

LoreCraft Completely understand .. appreciate you answering back and good job on all that you've done!

Hi. This is an awesome introduction. Could you please advice which type/brand of clay (if any) I could use for the following project: I want to make a cylinder with small stones impressions all around it. When the cylinder dries (or bakes - but I only have access to home oven 250C), I would like to roll it / press it against soft clay to recreate these stones for the purpose of making a wall or a road for table top games. I would like to be able to reuse this cylinder many times. Apparently most clays would be to fragile for this purpose? There are some cylinders available commercially but I want to have my own unique patterns.
@LoreCraft2ndchannel4 жыл бұрын
Oh my gosh. I wish I could be more helpful, but I'm really a more special effects, sculptor guy that doesn't fire anything in a kiln. Closest I get to baking anything is making something out of sculpey if I really need to. The characters I made earlier in my work are air dry clay - I never fired any of them. Best person to chat with about this sort of thing would be pottery folks, people that fire their work. Wish I could be more helpful. I AM interested in that stuff, but lifes too short to get everything in and I've shifted more into Spfx stuff, using oil and wax based clays now, and I cast in silicone, so definitely farther away from the profession you may be looking at. Hope my response was somewhat helpful. best to you!
