I was there at the palace of Alhambra Granada Spain in september 2006. A night to remember. Loreena is fantastic.

A Canadian national treasure. Very gifted and very independent. Have been a fan for many years and all her work is remarkable, whether traditional or fusion. Very pleased to see you find her.

Loreena is from Canada. Huron is one of the many groups of aboriginals (Indians) in North America. The opening is more like one of their chants. This concert is later in her career and includes instruments from all over.

Yes, it *is* a "cool" venue, the Moorish Alhambra Palace, Granada, Andalusia, Spain. It gets my vote for one of the most beautiful buildings in the world.

Loreena traced her Celtic roots back to the Indo-Europeans . the worship of the elements , nature and mysticism . more from her performance at the Alhambra ( some ancient instruments used ,Loreena paid for all the accompaniment) The Old Ways , All Souls Night , the Mystics Dream all good and more

I love Loreena McKennitt and I’m so happy you’re doing a reaction. She has a lot of great music out there and this particular concert is a great start. It’s quite the change from Nightwish, my second favorite band with Pink Floyd as number 1. Being very eclectic in ones musical taste provides a lot of opportunities and great times.

A large depth of music here with Lorreena. I hope you react to some of her other works in the future.

When all the instruments clash with the guitar and the violin leading the whole thing is like literally “seeing” a banch people dancing around a big fire. It’s really difficult to get what this woman and their musicians do. It’s just a straight “wow”.

She sings a lot of what I think of as medieval songs, like “The Mummers Dance”, or “The Highwayman”, or for a mideastern song “Caravanserai”. Another group along those same lines you may want to try is a band named Blackmore’s Night.

The "middle eastern" part of the song is, I believe, from a Native American chant.
