My Pappaw couldn't stand Barbara Mandrel. He hated her lobbying for seat belt laws in Tennessee. In 1990, in his Nissan Sentra, he was rear-ended by mack truck. He was badly bruised across his torso. He threw a blood clot to his brain from the internal bleeding caused by the seat belt. He suffered for a month and died in the hospital. He was the love of my life. I'm 42 now and I still cry for him. I firmly believe to this day that seat belts should be a personal choice, like many other things they've learned to make money from. Rest in Peace Pappaw and Mrs. Loretta Lynn

Almost since then we haven't heard a word from Barbara Mandrel. She was wonderful I wish we heard more from Her and Her sisters. They were the wonderful. That Barbra was a living legend before Loretta.... Loretta should be presenting this award Barbara. Just guessing, but I'd bet that Barbara thought the same.
