I was born and raised in Inglewood. I remember when Randy's opened. I don't think I ever went there though. And Angels Flight was the way my mother got to her apartment back in the early 30's when she worked downtown in LA. THank you for the memories. And reminding me I don't EVER want to drive in LA again LOL!

Can you imagine driving on our freeways every day? I'm sure glad to be retired after driving daily on them for 40 years. Sounds like y'all are gonna skip Long Beach this time. Oh, well. Going north, take something besides the 5. The 101 goes past Solvang, which is a quirky Danish town. Hwy 99 goes through farmland in the heart of California. Hwy 395 goes on the backside of the Sierra Nevada and is a beautiful drive. Tiger says hi to Tara and Opie. Take care, and may God bless.

Heard a great deal about traffic congestion in LA when our grandkids were residing in San Diego. The best part of the video is seeing Tara and Opie waiting at the door for their papa's return and of course the beautiful pool to rest in after a stressful day of work/sight-seeing in the big city. thumbs up.

Randy's Donuts used to be "The Big Donut" chain (established 1953) that had many locations throughout L.A. area. Randy's is the last that has the donut on the roof. In L.A. it's sometimes faster to take the surface streets than the freeway, especially at rush "hour". The feathers can be disinfected by spraying with bleach, Windex or vinegar. I used to live just a block from the Santa Monica pier, and just up from the famed "Muscle Beach" back in the mid-1950's. Is the carousel still operational? It was used in the movie, "THE STING." Yes carousel's still in operation, but if I remember correctly its only open on weekends or it has some schedule. You can look at it thru windows when closed though

Head up to echo park to pedal their swan boats in the lake. They have Chicago deep dish pizza at Masa. Check their hours first. Also there is ruble castle in glendora. Check online for a tour. You can go up the intercontinental hotel to the 70th floor in DTLA for free. In Griffith Park they have travel town full of kiddy trains. Also they have the Fern Dell nature trail. From there you can hike up to the observatory which is only a few miles.

Eric, Come on man. Not all of So. Cal is Los Angeles. You were in Norco, which is in Riverside County. The other day you were in San Bernardino which is in San Bernardino county, which btw is the largest county in the country! Anaheim is in Orange county. I had to laugh when you were talking about the Bumper Bully on the NY car. It's basically used to protect the car from other cars when parking. A lot of parallel parking in NYC and some of the drivers bang up cars when parking.
