thats a beautiful view you get all the way up there

Yeah its amazing what you can see with just a little camera!

Thermals start about 10:00 in the morning. I noticed you have a lot of flat roofs from industrial buildings around there fly over top of those buildings on a hot day or a parking lot Arenas work pretty good you fly over the exhaust for the heat exchanger my night radiant went up to 1200 ft according to my Verio

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely have to try finding some of those thermals. 😎 By the way, what's a Verio?

@@InvertedAviatorsRC a vario is a barometer that goes by air pressure in your receiver to tell the height of your airplane. It will not be on a bind and fly aircraft you will have to buy a separate receiver. Did you not have them for UMX aircraft

The UMX Conscendo is a fun "warm-liner" that will indeed thermal, but only when there is strong lift conditions or slope waves, as the wing loading on the UMX is too high compared to dedicated soaring models. Try thermaling when/where the sun is heating the ground... such as over the tennis courts if no one is using them and on days with puffy cumulus clouds. Or look for a hawk circling. Because it's heavier than a purpose-built soarer, the UMX is a real challenge to thermal (Challenge accepted). I only wish mine had a built-in-variometer like the larger Spektrum receivers. There is no better sensation than gaining altitude with the motor off; it takes a lot of practice and the ability to read where the lift is. The larger Radian will thermal properly, or you can tyr a dedicated powered glider or powered DLG if you want to thermal in lighter air.

Gotcha thanks for the tips! Yeah the UMX Conscendo is a blast to fly, and trying to thermal has been a pretty fun challenge so far. At some point we'll probably try a purpose-built soarer, but in the meantime the Conscendo is just so much fun!

Cool name for the channel dude.

Thank you! We happened to get a cool shot of this evo flying upside down, and that gave us inspiration for the name! The shot is actually apart of our intro if you want to check it out

Telling from "full-adjustable -airfoils" -skydive -parachutes: slowest "functional flight speed" gives lowest sink/time -rate for airfoil = longest flight time (anyhow lowering speed to stall level do not give benefit but worse). Balance between flaps and elevator offer improvements to fly slow => find settings for to slow as possible flight BUT then fly it anyway comfortable speed no stall features. If looking longest flight-distance needed to concider as well for drag -together with sink/time -rate = sink/distance -rate. Speed is worse causing just pure drag while flaps and elevators as well lift and so: fly slow withouth causing "stall -drag" is the point when looking best sink/distance -rate. You should proceed next test different static elevator -trims and flap -trims to compare which takes you longest at glide - waiting on that.

Yeah I agree that there are a lot more things to look into with this plane, so stay tuned for more videos!
