Summarized: - Omega-3 fatty acids, particularly from fish oil, can turn off genes associated with weight gain, helping unlock weight loss and reduce stubborn belly fat. - Genetics play a significant role in determining how your body stores or burns fat, with over 77 genes influencing weight gain. - Omega-3 fatty acids affect the three key stages of fat cell development: preventing pre-adipocytes from becoming full-fat cells, encouraging the development of metabolically active brown cells, and reducing the permeability of white cells to prevent excessive fat storage. - Consuming two to three grams of omega-3 fatty acids per day, either from fatty fish or supplements, is recommended for maximum benefit. - Reducing dietary omega-6 intake, found in processed foods, grain-fed meat, and certain oils like soybean and corn oil, is essential to balance omega-3 and omega-6 ratios. - A combination of increasing omega-3 intake and decreasing omega-6 intake yields the most significant benefits for weight loss and metabolic activity. - Opt for grass-fed meat and dairy products with lower omega-6 content if you include them in your diet.

@@erikasmith4427 When it comes to healthy eating, I believe moderation is a lie (notice how I softened that dogmatic statement by saying I believe?). The important thing about going carnivore is making sure that you are fat intake is greater than your protein intake. In fact, some carnivore “experts“ say the ratio should be 70% fat, 25% protein and 5% carbs. I put experts in quotes Because I’m not really sure there are any experts. I would do the same thing if I were talking about keto “experts,” etc. Best we laymen can do is try things for ourselves and see what works.

Just saying to eat fish is an incomplete solution. There is a huge difference between wild caught fish vs farmed fish. The wild caught has a lot of omega 3 but the farm raised fish are fed corn to fatten them up and they have a lot of omega 6. With beef you want to look for grass fed beef too for omega 3.

Interesting. Clarence Bass, who's written 17 books on leanness and achieving ultimate muscularity, has talked at length about this in the last four or five years or so. The idea of certain genes or gene expressions being changed to create a better environment in the body for fat utilization. Also, the part about Omega - 6 to Omega -3 ratios within our fat cells, " MAY " be one of the biggest contributors to the obesity epidemic. Before the time of the standard American diet, it is believed that the ratio of Omega -6 to Omega-3's within the average person's fat cells were somewhere between 3 to 1, or even something lower like 1 to 1. They've found that the average person consuming the average modern American diet, may have a ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3's within their fat cells that is something closer to 30 to 1 or even 50 to 1. The body then becomes a very inefficient fat burner. Something about the stickiness of the cell membranes is needed for the body to burn it's own fat efficiently.

As a side benefit… get he omega-3 / omega-6 ratio to greater than 3 to 1 (75% omega-3) and heart disease risk goes to zero. Note 3/6 is the inverse of how it is usually reported. Usual advice is to get the levels of omega 6 to total of 3 and 6 down to 65-70%. The no heart disease level takes this much further by getting the 6 / 3+6 level down to 25% or less. To do that requires eliminating seed oils (I.e. “vegetable oil” high in omega-6) from the diet and eating lots of omega-3 rich foods.

Well, interesting. But I found that omega3 can do few of roles of retinol including producing Acetyl-CoA. And retinol is closed into white fat cells in form R-OH (75%) and R-COOH (25%) and more the fat cells the less retinol (rbp4) can cross fat tissue. Except omega3 because omega3 can cross fat tissues. So less accessible retinol causes lower metabolism. e.g. Without retinol thyroid gland won't react to TSH normally and I mentioned Acetyl-CoA production also requires retinol. I think the real switch is vitamin D because it improves everything including thyroid gland TSH sensitivity (and sleeping, and microbiom, ...). There are two kind of fat loss: first is by cortisol hormone and the second is by tyhroid hormone. If you lose fat weight by cortisol you will first lose abdominal fat. But cortisol will block thyroid so you will gain back fat faster... if you lose fat weight by thyroid hormone you will lose fat from your head first than neck, chest and so on abdominal fat will be the last one. But this will give you energy. I experienced this once in my life. But your video make me think vitamin D could be more effective with omega3.

Yes! About D3: Vitamin D3 influences your gene expression. It flips more genes to proper settings as vitamin D3 levels in the body increase (search: gene heatmap vD3). Once you reach 70-80 ng/ml D3 level it's optimal.

Fasting for 20 hours every day has been the ONLY thing that’s helped me because food restriction is miserable!! However time restriction is far more doable!! I dropped 7lbs within the first 2 weeks most of that was inflammation however I look leaner overall. My eating window is 1-5pm then it’s water only after 5pm and water only when I wake up until 1pm. I eat what I want and workout/walk early before work to really burn through stored glycogen and fat. During menopause our insulin can get really out of balance so fast it’s magic!! Pick an eating window that suits you. The first few days are hard to adjust but you will. If I can give my my surgery milky coffee in the morning then anyone can!! You can do it!! 💯✨😁

I've tried for 20 years to lose weight, since I started gaining at 40 years old. 8 months ago I went on the carnivore diet and lost 40 pounds in 6 months. It's the only thing that worked for me.

Taking omega 3 supplements recently to combat genetic predisposition to high triglycerides. I did find I had been slimming down a bit faster than I was expecting from previous diet and exercise results. Interesting to see that this is documented as a nice side effect from my intended use of omega 3s.

Good info! I’m a carnivore and am getting in a ton of omega 6. It doesn’t seem like a gram of omega 3 is enough to counteract the 6s. I’ll have to look into this some more. I’ve lost weight but my gut is still an issue.

How about taking rx Vescepa vs otc Omega-3’s? Super clean w/o any of the otc fillers and other crap. I’ll work to minimize my Omega 6 intake and report back. Appreciate the insight. JC
