in 2020 I did IF & joined a bootcamp and lost weight, even during endless lockdowns - everyday I felt like I was just hanging on and gritting my teeth! I moved house, stopped IF, stopped Bootcamp and now, I've put it all back on and feel awful. Thank you for this video. I have never considered Macros before other than trying to eat very low carb (which had me meaner than an angry bear everyday!). I have been thinking that I want to try a way of eating that I can sustain for ever and your information certainly supports this.

i totally agree going all in from day one isn't going to work, change your diet first until you feel comfortable, trying yoga or pilates for a while before moving on to training.

This video makes so much sense. I've seen people follow a diet, loose weight, stop the diet and gain back double the weight. People don't understand that change has to be sustainable, a random diet you cannot always follow will only help in short term. Thank you for putting my thoughts into words. A very nice video.

This came in the exact moment where I needed it. I've been doing strength training and had switched from Keto and alternate day fasting to a high protein, low carb diet and I see more muscle growth, I just wasn't sure if I was doing the right thing (I love keto and ADF, but was not seeing the muscle growth I wanted). Thank you for this!
@jessiesisto20382 жыл бұрын
You made the right choice keto and adf can be good for some but not for an athlete or someone who would like to be tone with muscle growth and the more muscle you have the more calories you burn and the easier it will be to become lean

I am 51 and have been trying for years to lose just 8-10 pounds. I’ve literally tried every “diet” and workout plan and although I don’t want to be negative, the truth is I feel defeated. Everything you are saying makes sense, especially about being patient with progress, but my belly seems to have plans to stay around for the long haul. Anyone else feel this way?

Walk 2 to 3 miles a day, or most days. That's what I do. I also do some resistance training too. I'll be 65 this year. Let's get er done!!!😊

Me! I felt this way and I am exactly the same age as you. I gave up on intermittent fasting and impractical, unsustainable eating habits. For the first time in my life I lost a significant amount of weight by joining a coaching program through my job’s health insurance program. I have lost 33 lbs since October 2021. I paid for a MyFitnessPal Acct to track my intake and make sure I get 10k steps a day. At first it was challenging but after seeing the gradual weight loss and changes to my body I was encouraged to keep it up. I feel better than I felt in decades. At my recent physical my doctor was so impressed. I just found this KZbin channel and everything she says really reinforce everything I have learned in my coaching program. It’s great advice. The name of the program is called “Real Appeal” if you’re interested.

Regarding changes we need to make during menopause...what about when we supplement with HRT after an initial few years w/o them? When our hormones are back up to "regular" levels, can we go back to less restrictive measures than we would have to adhere to if we weren't boosting our levels of those important hormones? hope this makes sense?

This is sooo true!!! I’ve been cutting out dairy, (for Lent) and I normally wouldn’t make such a change, but my whole family is cutting something out. And yes, changes are HARD!! And can actually be painful at times: like headaches, mood swings, and insomnia. I’ve been also cutting out my daily chai latte drinks that I make at home, and instead, just go for a chai tea without any milk and only on the weekends. Since starting out, I’m feeling quite dizzy, but I think it’s because of all the mucus leaving my body and my head is trying to find out the correct balance again. But I now that this will pass, just like anything else! ☺️
