I'm going to bother you again lol. I've ordered the dbxl-e 2.0, it should be here in a couple weeks (We'll see since fedex is the carrier), someone from another video said they had too many problems with it and sold it. Now I understand a lot depends on how it was driven, has this been the case for you or not so much?
@rcguygarage
@rcguygarage 3 жыл бұрын
Not so much but people have to understand what this rig is. It's designed to run a big groomed track or sandy dunes. If a link pops it's designed that way to prevent more costly damage elsewhere. ALTHOUGH I've treated mine fairly rough though. I love the Monsta and see no need for it to leave my collection

You need a hardened steel pin, not a soft nail. I don't think it will hold up.
@rcguygarage
@rcguygarage 4 жыл бұрын
The thing is because this is galvanized nail it's holding up better than the hardened steel pin and this thing has been thrashed many times since the repair. The other side is actually running an flm hybrid against the OE with a galvanized nail repair. Certain things that I do might surprise you cause I just do whatever it takes. 😂🤣👍💯👊

Instead of just wiping down the parts, why not use spray brake cleaner to get rid of all the grease and dirt.
@rcguygarage
@rcguygarage 3 жыл бұрын
Couple of reasons. #1 manual removal first uses less spray. #2 using spray in the shop with rugs and gas fired boiler isn't really good for my particular situation 😂🤣. #3 Depending on the type of plastics they might not like certain solvent cleaners. Normally when not doing a video, all my parts go into my parts cleaner tank in the garage using a solvent that is bought in large quantity. Most RC hobbyists don't have that ability so I just try to show a simple easy safe way that most can do. Maybe😉🤣

@@rcguygarage So your only suggestions is to spend lots of money on that special cleaner or just wipe them out? Sorry I can't accept that. There are spray cleaners out there that can be bought and not hurt plastic and it's nothing to step outside to clean the part. I guess I've work on enough greasy things to know there is more than 1 way to clean them without getting blown up or getting yelled at by the wife. Yes I agree that the initial cleaning is a good wipe down, using an old toothbrush is also handy. Not trying to start an argument, but you seem to be very rigid on any cleaning ideas other than your own. Oh by the way, if you have a water hose and access to the water heater, it has a place at the bottom where you can connect a hose and you have hot water outside.

39:18 that doesn't seem right....will attract and hold in tiny dust and sand down the plastic even faster AND rough up the metal pivot balls. no way the nail holds; totally diff metals / alloys. pay mind to your audio, the dynamics is stoopid..it's not a marvel action movie I see you have many rc's; have you not noticed that you wear out the links adding an oil lubricant...at least use a powder lube instead....and even then is a waste for outdoor.
