Just did this week back or so. I keep breaking the Traxxas cups. Drilled out n shaved doesn't leave a whole lot. Grub screw cracks the plastic there. Has this idea evolved at all since this vid? Curious what you running there now. Thanks in advance my friend. Your video helped me BIGTIME

Hi, I just literally did you mod as we type, and the axle shafts are indeed too short. I compressed the whole corner and it popped out right away. So definitely gonna have to get the longer ones.

They are cheap Amazon wheels. I’m cheap lol. I get a lot from Amazon

After you put in the traxxss cups is there a grub screw used then? Dont the stock cups use a ring clip?

Yes. The traxxas cups use a grub screw/pin

@@mulerc3875 after replacing the broken axle went to test and broke both rears this time after 15 mins of playtime at a lot, it still ran faster than my 4tec with just fwd.. replaced again but have 4tec plastic drive cups on order along with metal axles. Although I’m not ready for speed runs as I’m still running on stock pinion 4000kv smart firma with 2s lipo, tried 3s when the axle broke the first time. I’m more about some parking lot racing with the two cars and my kids. Thanks for your help it will probably save me some funs for future fun, lol

@@mulerc3875 After a lot of sanding i got those damn drive cups in, lol at first I used the rear cvd for the traxxas and it was too short, double checked your vid and you used the fronts, fortunately I had a set of fronts for the actual traxxas I didn’t use yet, will return the extra rear and get another front but your hack totally works, one more thing, I did have to also replace the 12m hex and placed a slightly wider one because the traxxas shaft will pull wheel in more and the original losi hex would not lock into the shaft unless the diameter of the hole was slightly larger. Thanks again, please keep these types of hacks and tips going if you discover more as Losi doesn’t really offer options.

Just fyi/follow up the cvd holding up well but the plastic drive cups have broke on me twice in a row. However the car was hit both times during race and one i lightly smacked it playing around with my kid

HEY! Thanks for this! I just broke my V100 and was bummed i couldn't find hop up parts. Reddit steered me here. Now, do I have to use the plastic drive cups, or will the steel ones TRA8353X work as well? I may try the X ones just because i can. Thanks for the video!

You have to use the plastic ones. Unless you have an awesome drill bit that can drill 1/4” threw the metal ones!!
