One thing that Harvey didn't mention is agency law. If someone speaks on your behalf in a business transaction, the authority doesn't have to be explicit authority, it's called apparent authority. That means they don't necessarily have to have authority to speak on your behalf but if the person being negotiated with reasonably believes you have the authority then that is good enough. The young lady was so sweet. "Yes, she had admitted she destroyed the property, but her "boyfriend" had cheated on her with her so called friend. He deserved what she did. Like Judge Milian said, she's only in her 20's, to move on. In my personal opinion, she deserves much better! He deserves his new girlfriend.

if i have a son or daughter who cheats on their partner & their partner breaks their stuff, i wouldn’t be getting to partner to pay it back. i would never support my child in their cheating. cheating is fucked up - have some decency and just leave your partner if you want to move on. breaking someone’s things may not be morally right but neither is cheating - actions have consequences! i wish the defendant the best & hope the plantiff learned his lesson although he doesn’t truly seem too apologetic.
