Survival of the fittest is very interesting! I remember learning about that! I thought about the survival of the fittest when AIDS, and COVID hit! I wondered if was fit enough to survive! How about two people with the same cancer! One lives and one dies! The one that lives gets to raise the kids and the one that dies gets to be raised by a stepparent! Survival of the fittest! So happy to see this because it brought this to the forefront of my thoughts! Like the calf the children are left to wonder what will become of them! Very sad for both!

Carnivores have to eat. Carnivores keep the ecosystem in balance, to do so they must hunt, kill, and eat other animals no matter what opportunity. Interfering would interfere in the ability of the carnivores to eat and feed their own young. If we did that constantly, all carnivores would die out, herbivore numbers would explode and they would, quite literally, eat the world toward its next mass extinction by demolishing most plant life.

Generally lions only attack small Elephants. Elephant even though its much stronger but it's defence is vulnerable when lions attack them. Only a hippo can survive when 3 lions are attacked.
