@@junipercosmic6841 Agreed. I bought this last weekend thinking it was more explorative and open, but its not. Its cute and I've gotten to Three-town but the game is REALLY slow. Alot of reading. Battle was annoying to get used to.

@@strawberrybounce2 Yeah the battle system is just irgh 😣. It's confusing and then even when you get the hang of it, it's just basically selecting cards and is repetitive af. It's a shame because it looks great, voice acting is fine, but it drags and after a while you realize you just simply aren't having 'fun'. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I'm a huge fan Gaiman's works in written form, and because of that, Mirrormask was s huge disappointment. Just like everything they tried to adapt from him to moving pictures: American Gods, Coraline, Beowulf, Neverwhere, Good Omens (the ending meh), Stardust... name it. Mirrormask had so many potential, especially because David McKean designed it (love his works in comics too) but they rushed it. With 2010+ vfx it'd have been a much better movie. p.s. I have no idea why you call it a Jim Henson movie. :thinkingface:

I see many disappointed people IMHO: The story is good The design and the mood are awesome Also the world building is great because of variety between the six areas Now, about the gameplay, i liked it but it's not perfect Exploration and subquest are good, the problem with the strange but original combat system is that there aren't a lot of cards Useful cards are not so many, so you have not much variety between fights during the game Sometimes the game changes some rules, this is good but it's not enough Furthermore at a certain point you buy all cards and there aren't new ones Anyway I strongly suggest to everyone to try this game because it's a good game with good story and atmosphere and despite everything i liked this new fresh idea for the combat system

About a year ago, the devs stated they had ideas for a sequel or spin-off. No idea if those plans have any chance of materializing, considering the studio merged with a different one not long after that interview released.

This looks cool, wonder if it has a demo. Edited to add I bought it in the sale last week and I played it to completion and absolutely loved it. I'm going to play through again and try and find all the story book pages as I didn't get them all this time. This is a great game its like being in a movie. 4+5 towns felt a lot faster than 1,2+3 and not as memorable if I had any criticism it would be that they didn't have as much story in my opinion as the starter towns but that may just be my feeling and not fact. If you don't have it and think you might like it then buy it. It really is a good game.
