Another lost media is a strange game in Madagascar, where a team scored 149 own goals. There's only one supposed picture from that game
@WikiRafa2 жыл бұрын
Here in Brazil, the Holy Grail of football lost media is the film of a goal Pele scored back in 1959 in a match between his team, Santos, and Juventus (Mooca), for the São Paulo Championship. Pele himself has said it was the greatest goal of his career, but nothing remains of it, even though that match was broadcast live on TV. That goal was recreated in many forms, from computer animation to live action reconstitution for documentaries and specials about the "King of Football", but the original film is still lost to time. I also believe that the original World Cup trophy was already in its third reincarnation when it was robbed from the CBF Museum in 1983. The stories about the Italian guy who hid it in a shoe box under his bed during WW2 and the English dog that found it out of nowhere in 1966 are pretty unbelievable to me, to be honest.
@TheGood8882 жыл бұрын
Really interested in this one! That said, do you know who televised or at least filmed the Santos-Juventus match? Most of the mainstream sources I came across claimed no cameras were even present during the game.
@WikiRafa2 жыл бұрын
@@TheGood888 There were at least two cameras there according to sources around that date. The problem was that those weren't film cameras, but early TV cameras. Brazil only started using videotaping technology in the 60s. Before that, everything shown on TV was live, including telenovelas and musicals. Almost nothing locally produced was recorded, as imported film was extremely expensive and unreliable under humid and warm tropical weather. We only have some early commercials from international brands such as Coca-Cola or Volkswagen. But even if the match was recorded, chances are that it would still be lost media by now. Most early TV content was lost due to fires and floods, that affected all TV stations from São Paulo and Rio. One example: we don't have a single local broadcast from World Cup '74 remaining due to a fire that destroyed the entire film archive of TV Globo in 1976.
@TheGood888 Жыл бұрын
@@WikiRafa Sorry for the long delay in response, completely forgot about this one! I was doing some more research on the match using the Biblioteca Nacional Digital Brasil archive, and came across a photo of one of Pele's goals in the 3rd August 1959 edition of Diario da Noite. Not sure it's the goal in question (as he scored a hat trick in that game), but very cool all the same! That said, haven't had luck finding sources talking about the television coverage yet (doesn't help I am not fluent in Portuguese). Was wondering if you could share any of the sources that talked about said coverage, as I would love to get a Lost Media Wiki article written about this.

Fantastic stuff. A few others I would like to add are the television coverage of the 1954 World Cup, which I believe was the first World Cup to be broadcast. I know that the games were televised at least in the United Kingdom and Germany. Most match footage is now missing, aside from the odd newsreel clip here and there. Also, the 1971 Women's World Cup should be mentioned, being extremely ahead of its time, with 110,000 watching Denmark beat hosts Mexico 3-0 in the Final. All of Mexico's games were televised, but only a few clips have survived.

I don’t think it’s all on KZbin just clips. It was one of the playoff games Tim donaghy refereed and I think the game Steve nash got bloodied and no foul was called etc. I think it cost the suns a championship that year. Nice video. One football match that is considered lost is the 1973 Qualifying match USSR vs Chile in Moscow. Both nations had cut diplomatic relations after the 1973 Pinochet's coup d'etat. The match was played in the Lenin Stadium in front of 60k spectators, thought there are claims of it not being televised which is kind of weird considering it was an official match. Only a few pictures can be found online, mostly from Soviet media.

Video Idea: Eminem lost media, because I love Eminem, and there should be more than enough to make into a video. Here's all the ones I know of (and yes, I did plagiarize 99% of this from the lost media wiki) •Mix TV presents: Eminem, this is a lost cancelled PS2 puzzle game, where you have to unscramble jumbled versions of Eminem music videos before the level ends. No build or even screenshots from it have surfaced online. •Relapse: Resistance, this is a lost mobile game that came out to promote his sixth studio album Relapse. All that we have of it now is a few screenshots, the game's trailer, and some low quality gameplay footage. •So Many Styles, this is a partially found old Eminem song in which he says some pretty racist stuff. All that we have of it is a 36 second snippet from an issue of The Source magazine. •The Relapse Recording Sessions: Oh Trey 9 label owner Terry Simaan claimed that, during the creation of his sixth studio album Relapse, Eminem would spend 12-15 hours recording songs, with over 300 unreleased songs by February 2009 (since Relapse came out in May 2009, if this is true, there's likely even MORE unreleased songs recorded for Relapse). This actually falls under Existence Unconfirmed. •Nut Up: This is a now found unreleased track rumored to have been planned for Relapse 2. A snippet of it first leaked in 2011, and a larger snippet leaked in 2019. In that same year, the whole song was sold for $1,500, and was then released. •Run Your Jewels, this is a cancelled track from his first studio album Infinite. All that we have of it is a 13 second snippet.

It would mean a lot to me if you could bring this match to the spotlight, it is not of global interest nor is it from a world cup match, but I have been looking for it for almost two years to nl avail and I’d really appreciate if someone could give me a hand difunding it I’m talking about the third match of the 1973 Mexican League finale between Cruz Azul and León. The former won the game in extra time thanks to an own-goal handball scored by a Leon defender. The story tells that the referees had a hard time deliberating wether a goal scored like that would count, however, Cruz Azul finally got it awarded and crowned themselves as twice-in-a-row Mexican champions. It’s particularly strange case of lost media because almost every important match from the Mexican league has been recovered and uploaded to KZbin by either the sports subdivision of the country’s biggest broadcaster(TUDN of Grupo Televisa) or by independent collectors, however, this EXACT match seems the only one to be missing and no one has been able to find a copy of it. By the way, it is important to note that one can easily find footage of the first two matches played at Estadio León and Azteca uploaded by Clío TV on KZbin, however, not even them, a media group specialized on historical archiving, seem to have any footage of the third game.
