Amazing seeing one in action again. I used to make my Mum's life a misery as a kid back in the 1960s whenever we went into the local Woolworths which had one inside. I also remember having a go on one at Margate or Southend as a kid as well. Really brings back great memoreis. Thanks for posting.

As a child (in 1966), I RODE IN ONE OF THESE! It was atop the rooftop of Heathrow Airport...!

There used to be one on Scarborough sea front back in the 60's that was a highlight of my childhood - but is long since gone. I thought I might have a photo of me in it but no more.

i actually had a tardis when i was little. It was sized exactly to how the BBC made them back in the old show! A guy made it but his girl friend made him throw it out so we bought it off him for £11! Love it! But it was made of chip board so it collaspted after years of being outside in the rain! =(

These are really rare, cool. It's nice to see another one. "TheJeremyEvans" has done a fantastic job of converting his into a Genesis-style Dalek, be nice to think that all these Daleks could get the same Celeb treatement.

Saw one down in Bamfords auction house along with a real movie Dalek. The movie Dalek sold for an eye watering... £38,000 at auction!

No unfortunately not, the original 8 track audio system was missing so I made a modern cassette system and had to make my own soundtrack, would love to hear the original. ;)

According to the Forbidden Planet website, there will be a 4' plastic ride-in version of the new Daleks for sale in the summer! Wish I was a kid again!

@Lost935 There was no sound in any of these that I ever saw as a kid. I remember there being quite a few in an arcade in Blackpool, not far from the original exhibition, and I think one was blue. Maybe the sound systems broke down and weren't repaired. Most kids just saty inside, moved the guns up and down, and shouted in their own Dalek voices.

I remember there being one of these in what used to be Dreamland in Margate in the 70's! Always dragged my parents there just so I could see it...wasn't interested in the rides :o)

Great video! I remember they had one of these at Heathrow Airport and I had my photo taken with it. Obviously this was post 1971... your Dalek has been decimalised!

The originals had an 8 Track-looped system that wasn`t very reliable and didn`t wear very well, so I guess when they broke they just lefy them broke, mine has already converted to a modern car radio cassette so you could make the dalek sing whatever you wanted it to. lol
