Xander captured some different stuff on this trip so check out his channel (his version is coming soon): www.youtube.com/@XanderBudnick Normally I would spread out posts but I'm gonna be away for a while and getting this out now. We have a big trip coming up so if there are no posts for a bit, it means our trip is going as planned :)

I'm glad you survived another trip with Xander. The bird you videoed with the high pitch song is the White Throated Sparrow. Through migration we have those in the SE. What you might want to keep an eye out for is the Pileated Woodpecker. Think the most wild sounding bird out there. I've heard a couple in your videos and time stamped one. Thanks for everything and love your videos.

Jon, your willingness to act as loving father-figure by taking a young, wild, uncultured, and struggling Xander with you, and do what you can against incredible odds to help mold the boy into a man, is inspiration to us all. Such selflessness. The world needs more role models like you! 🤣

Jon, I have been watching your channel since the start. As a fellow Ontarian born guy who cut his chops tripping and adventuring in northern Ontario, you really capture the essence of how incredible and majestic it is. I am now in the Yukon living my outdoors dream life, but your adventure stories and videos really allow me to still see, feel, and experience the place that fueled the desire to explore even further. I have to say your channel has evolved in such a spectacular way!! It’s always been great but I feel like you have really stepped up your editing, narration, videography and just content in general lately, and you’re only getting better! Seriously man thank you for creating such amazing content and delivering it to us!! Truly impressive!

A very big THANK to you, to your friend for this amazing video! I like especially your narrative speech and your comments and the nice way you invite us watchers to your beautiful video into the trip, and then the sound of rain, loons, the fishing and the silent canoeing along the pristine lake shores, the thunder and your food making and swimming and then the macro close-ups of flowers, insects and blueberries! I really enjoyed all the moments 100%, because I have no chance anymore to exactly all the things you do! Also I imagine the history and the ancient ages when only the American Native people was living and hunting and fishing and surviving in these areas! Wishing you all the blessings as well as to your loved ones and all of your family as well! Greetings from the country of "Fjallraven" ! (Sweden) 🙂💯👍👍👍💝💖💝

I love seeing you guys out there living the dream, not only the place or the activity but having a great friend to do wilderness trips with is such a privilege. I've been thinking I should make fish sandwiches on my next trip, if I catch a fish and I'm not ready to eat it or it's too big, I'll cook it and pack just the flesh away in a freezer bag for later. With a frozen water bottle it could be kept for up to a couple days no problem, and even heated up again in calzones.

The little spot in northern Wisconsin on the Peshtigo River that I go to all the time has a few minks running around. They'll get within a couple feet of you while youre fishing from the shoreline. The "two blade" Kayak paddle. Thank you Xander. I'm working on a pretty radical "sailing canoe design." Since the "22. day" trip punctuated the "sailing mode." ~ Thank you so much Erin. ~ (Lots of quotes here - my bad habit sorry.). 🌸 I want to head for lake Nipigon next year. I have a very old Kayak fiberglass hull ~ convert to pontoon. I have sails. Lots of sails. Convert to Canoe design. I have lots of white oak boards. Rip for mast and bracing. I have the trailer from the sailboat the tree fell on - just went to demolition. I have all the parts to the sailboat ~ Convert to light Canoe design. I have an old six man EMS tent 4 season ~ great bug control. I have a two person hiking tent also great bug control inside the six man tent. A warm system. Not too heavy overall. The Canoe and Kayak combo will be "OK" with weight. ~ Gonna go there.~ I promise. ✨🌸🙏🌸✨. 🇺🇸
