Thanks for your comments. I find that there are a number of classic novels available through KU that come with the audiobook as a bonus. Since I like to read while listening (it increases my reading speed and helps me keep focused on the page), this is a big plus for the service.

Some libraries will also let you borrow books that you can read through the Kindle service. Once you borrow from the library, their link will take you directly to your Amazon Kindle account.

I’ve used kindle unlimited for some time now. I work in my van during the day so I either can have Alexa read my book or my iPhone can read it also. I can go through several books in a month this way so it’s worth it to me. I also use hoopla and Libby for the books that may not be available yet for kindle unlimited. I believe that if you borrow a book and it leaves K/U, you still have that in your library to read. I always keep my full 20 checked out and just keep returning and borrowing. I have found several new authors and series through K/U

Here’s my tip to cut your Kindle Unlimited cost by at least half, pay for a month and when you get to the last day or two of that month return all your read books and make sure you have your full 20 book borrow limit of unread books downloaded on to your Kindle. Turn your Kindle to airplane mode and cancel your subscription. As long as you keep your Kindle in airplane mode the books will stay on your Kindle so you have however long it takes you to read those 20 books before you need to subscribe for another month. Most people will take at least a month to read 20 books cutting your yearly cost by half, if it takes you 2 months to read the 20 books then you would only have to pay for 4 months to get Kindle Unlimited books for a whole year!
@catt391122 күн бұрын
How many time have you done this? And I assume this wouldn’t work if you launched the app from your phone?
@carlamasterson252222 күн бұрын
@@catt3911 I do it every time. I get Kindle Unlimited, when the month I’ve paid for is coming to an end I load up my Kindle with my full allotment of unread books (make sure the books have actually downloaded onto the Kindle before switching to airplane mode) turn off the wi-fi on my Kindle and cancel my kindle unlimited from renewing. As long as the Wi-Fi is switched off the books remain on your device until you switch the Wi-Fi back on again. I haven’t tried it with the Kindle app on a phone, but you would have to keep the phone from accepting any wi-fi signal so I don’t think it would be suitable for a phone or tablet, just the Kindle itself.

I'm going back and forth on the cost. I use my library a lot of ebooks but do love the fact you can get so many ebooks on kindle unlimited and some even come with the audiobook as well. I said I'd drop it after the new year but still not sure if I actually will. I need to do the price comparison you did to truly make up my mind I think. Thanks for the video.

The price comparison is definitely fun & helpful! Using the library to save is also key and I love when they have the free audiobook through KU too. I thought I would just try it for a few months too and found myself keeping my subscription so sounds like we’re in the same boat haha. Thanks for watching!

I’ve had a paperwhite kindle for years now and have just subscribed to KU. They had a deal on during Black Friday sale 3 months for 99c (Australia) I decided to take up the . I’m loving it so far as I do read a lot and since moving house my local library isn’t as good as the one I use to although I still use it from time to time. After the 3 months it will be $13.99 a month and I’m pretty sure I will keep it going 😊

I think I would do this if the cost was about $8 a month. I know $12 doesn’t sound like THAT much more. But that’s $144 a year!!!!!! I know it’s arguably cheaper if you consistently read two or three books a month. But it just feels like a lot. I feel like Libby is the best option for most. Just keep in mind that you have a time limit with those.

I am a 45 year white guy that reads mostly horror + suspense + nonfiction. It seems that unlimited is not really intended for those genres, as most are romance and dark fantasy geared towards women. Also, you can simply get titles from an actual library.
