I'm not usually a fan of collaborations between channels, BUT I would love to see you guys team up with Thomas and James from Throttle House for a road trip of this caliber. I think it would be hilarious, and interesting, and tons of fun.
@rdiamond655 Жыл бұрын
The only problem with that is one of approaches, Thomas and James tend to script/plan out the trip while Paul and Todd are more free form. But I agree, getting the law four together would be a hoot.

And there's the other small issue of Utah, and Canada! I've thought for ages now how stellar a collaboration would be. Logistics would be a nightmare. Schlitz and Tofu with the Elise and C8. I'm busting up just thinking about it.

You guys are super under rated, one of the best driving enthusiast channels. You guys might be the only ones to consistently give us the content & comparisons, & the cars we want to see. Stuff other channels arent giving us, only you guys. I would love to see a early air cooled 911 on this channel, I think it would be perfect alongside the Lotus Elise.
@EverydayDriver Жыл бұрын
These are huge compliments, thank you! We’re glad you like what we do and it resonates with you. Keep in mind that ten years ago we did a feature film called “50 years of the 911” where we drove every generation of the 911 back to back. Lots of air cooled discussion there! You can find it on Amazon on Bluray or streaming. Thanks for watching!

Hi Todd and Paul! I've been a fan of EverydayDriver for many years now and this is my favorite video you've made (next to the episode Paul bought his Cayman). This film spoke to me in so many levels as I feel that road trips are a lost hobby for many people today. One day I'll be taking my two kids along with me on one of these epic journeys as my parents did back in the 80's. If I ever make a video about it, it's thanks to you both for reigniting that passion. Looking forward to more!

I remember one time my dad showed me your guy's work years ago but I have finally come back and have been really enjoying the podcast which is what I primarily consume. These roadtrip films have really inspired me and I can't wait to jump at the opportunity to take my own. Considering I haven't personally traveled and stayed overnight somewhere completely different, the idea of an enthusiast roadtrip excites the heck out of me and I think i've gotten a few friends excited as well, which I have shared this video with. I hope in the future we can plan something similar to this as an enthusiast driver's road trip. Thanks Paul and Todd for all that you do in the car enthusiast community!

Thanks for what you do and for taking us along! As a young sailor I had the privilege of driving across our country a few times. Unfortunately during those drives I never took the time to stop and smell the roses. The cold war sites reminded me of my time serving on Ballistic Missile Submarines and what a dark time it was during the cold war. I am also amazed at the construction of all the National Parks and the amazing roads and highways that were built during the early parts of the 20th century. I've always said that everyone needs to drive across the country at least once in their life. It's a life changing experience that should be done when you are a kid and then later as an older adult, preferably in a sports car or on a motorcycle. I have been lucky enough to do it both ways. Again thanks for sharing!

So many of the points you put across during this trip ring true with me and my past adventures, so even though this was a different continent this made me reminisce happy memories while enjoying your adventure unfold. Taking a sports car may have been swapped for a sports bike but the places I've accidently found or seen then randomly stopped at and countries I've ended up in just because I took a trip to 1 place were made all the better due to the choice of taking the "wrong" vehicle for the job, only to discover some amazing roads where that choice was in fact perfect at that moment in time

Beyond how cool it was to see you guys visit all these national monuments, the first half of this video is a real showcase to how underrated Wyoming is as a state. The vast emptiness and lack of people and cities is what appeals so much to me about it. And then you find the few towns it does have are typically really interesting, laid back places. If the state did more to diversify its economy (most of it is energy and mining), it would be booming. But then a lot of its charm would be lost. Great video.

A magnificent road trip that went to so many of the places that I was taken to as a kid and then I took my children when they were old enough to go and remember it...such special times! I'm so grateful to you guys for doing this one, it was one of your best and touched my heart in a very special way. How many times, living in the Midwest, I would drive to Sioux Falls and visit Falls Park over a three day weekend and then drive to the rest stop at Chamberlin, SD overlooking the Missouri River, aching to go further west to where the special places truly are only to turn around and head for home. While trying to be grateful I made it as far I had and saw what I did. Bucket list for me is to spend a week driving my 1999 Miata 10AE on the Needles Highway and all about Custer State Park, top down, wind in my hair...basking and, yes, possibly basting. Again, you guys are great at this and I'm really grateful you brought me along for the ride.

Wow! I'm happy to report that this part of Wyoming is the reverse road I took while moving from Minnesota to California in 2020. I was planning on driving through Yellow Stone National Park from Cody, but a blizzard out of nowhere knocked me southbound through Thermopolis--Shoshoni-- Continental Divide--Atlantic City. WY --Rocksprings(I-80), then continue west. My biggest regret is having my EVO X GSR shipped on a semi while driving a rental Highlander for those roads. Thank you, Paul and Todd, for driving this road again and returning my memories. I will visit those places back and do it in my highway buzzer EVO X GSR. Now, ask Todd: "Would you rather sit in a Lotus Elice or EVO X GSR 5MT while cruising on the Wyoming highway?" One almost has no A/C, and another only has 5 gears. Both are your favorite back road toys but terrible long-distance cruisers. Also Need for Speed the Run is also mine favorite NFS game.
@EverydayDriver Жыл бұрын
While the buzz of the 5th gear in the Evo is annoying it's probably the quieter than the Lotus at highway-drone speeds. But the seating position in the Elise is arguably better. Tough call. Thanks for watching and we hope you get the chance to revisit these roads!

15:35 - The $25 Gyeon drying towel = totally worth it as well... Can do an entire vehicle before the water spots takeover! Technique - START with your windows FIRST - this way the towel has a chance to start wicking - then move to the paint - place towel on top of car flat - then pull towards you... avoid buffing type of movement if possible... you can also pack a spray drying aid if you want to get "rad" with it....

Hey Todd, I want to share with you a memory from a trip I took from Denver, Colorado to Sayreville, New Jersey (pretty much Staten Island, NY). It wasn’t a road trip, more of a “moving trip” in a Penske Chevrolet box truck, that I chose to think of as a road trip. The truck had some steering or alignment issue that would reveal itself at around 40 mph and sort of “dissipate” around 50, but I didn’t let that stop me from having the time of my life. Back in 2005 Bluetooth wasn’t widely available and not all cars (if any) had them. My rental truck had just basic AM/FM radio with 2 speakers. So, I had my Sony boom box in the car with me, between the seats, blasting away. And I even managed to stack a few duffle bags between the seats to convert them into a bed for night time rest at truck stops. The point I’m making is that when you’re out to enjoy the trip, you will figure out a way to do so. If I could have a blast in a Chevrolet box truck (with steering/alignment) issue, you sure as hell can have fun in a Lotus. As a bonus, when it gets to twisty canyon roads, I bet you’re having way more fun than Paul (and I have a feeling that on certain stretches of the road you’re beating him speedwise too). All this is to say that as much as I respect the Corvette, that Lotus is The Car for having fun 🙂 It is well worth the sacrifices you have to make to drive it…
