Just wanted to reach out and thank you for your hip replacement stories. I’m facing hip surgery and under testing now, I have put this off for about 5 years of living in pain and your videos have given me the courage to go for it. On a side note I am also a car guy racing turbo charged miatas for many years 😊

You are very welcome. Helping folks like yourself is the whole reason I'm doing this. Miata racing has always intrigued me...if only I felt more confident as a mechanic I might've given it a try. One of my fondest memories with my dad was going to Road America when I was a teen and watching them race the RX-3s, etc. Wish you all the best with your surgery and recovery.

I think the best solution would be to rebuild your stairs so they run parallel to the back wall instead of jutting out. That would buy you at least 2 feet in my estimation and you could create a solid half wall so as not to accidentally bump the corner of the current-configured stairwell.

Thanks for the suggestion. That is something we contemplated and I don't remember all the pros and cons. I think it would mean losing the garage fridge for example. But it is worth revisiting now that the lift is installed. 👍

Very nice, I would do the same thing. I'm a big car audio guy. Would you be willing to do a review on the stereo system. Most videos I've seen don't have a review. Thanks.

Thanks for watching. Funny, several people have asked me about the stereo. Unfortunately, I do not feel qualified to review the stereo. It's good enough for me, but I don't feel like I'm very discerning. I have been on a conference call with other emira owners who were audiophiles and they were not impressed with the stereo.

Sorry but why dont you just backup the Emira in the garage? Reverse you can align it easily just an inch from the wall and have massive space to get in and out.

If you watch my Garage Lift design video, I show the constraints I'm working under. I cannot back in straight...at least not without a lot of small back-and-forths in the driveway to line the car up. Backing into the garage while turning is not something I'm comfortable with...less risky to pull in straight and then back out. I could totally do this in a few years when the kids move out and we have fewer cars in the driveway.
