The thing that I admire most about this famous 57 and a half Plymouth Fury, is her backwards running odometer. It generates a rejuvenating power, which causes Christine herself to rejuvenate, but also rejuvenates anything in Christine's passenger compartment or trunk. When Arnie Cunningham first bought her, he wore glasses, that had gotten broken in the fight with Buddy Reperton in the school auto machanics shop. Assides from giving Christine a ring job so that she wouldn't burn oil and smoke up Darnell's garage, he did most of the restoration by driving Christine around the junkyard out back of the garage. The backwards running odometer rejuvenated Christine herself, but also rejuvenated Arnie himself, including his eyesight. Once Arnie's eyesight was rejuvenated, Arnie didn't need his glasses anymore. He came out and Dennis said "Hey man, no glasses, you're lookin' good!" I would love to have a Christine car that really had that kind of rejuvenating power. I have some iconic dining chairs that I really cherish. They are these Early American wooden spindle back chairs that are known as mate's chairs. They are distinctive for their guitar shaped seats, curved and scolloped back rails, ornate spindles and leg structures. Some people that I have over for dinner may not be as kind to the chairs as my girlfriend and I are. They may lean back on two legs, slouch, or scoot the chairs out from under the table with all of their weight on them. Those are three common things that are bad for most wooden dining chairs. If I had a Christine car that really had the odometer that generated that rejuvenating power, I would like to four times a year put the chairs in Christine, get on I-77 south, and make a run down to Columbia South Carolina and back. This would be preventive mantainence for my beloved mate's chairs. I could also use Christine to rejuvenate other things as well. I work as a dishwasher at the Cypress Club of Charlotte, and we have a lot of incidents of dishwear breakage. We put all of the breakage in a deep bus tub. I could take that bus tub of broken dishwear, put in Christine, and do the same as I would do with my mate's chairs. If my DVD player is pixilating and freezing up, I could use Christine to rejuvenate the DVD player. These are some great examples of how Christine's rejuvenating power could really be useful.

Yes the black 1 did get alot of attention, A relative burned trash the day before and that started a grass fire then a garage fire.I discovered the grass fire my dad and I went out to put the fire out and thought it was completely out. A couple of hours later there was a loud explosion in the garage smoke then flames. I was in tears when my car burned . When the relative came home she said "You are upset about your car". I almost screamed at her "If you did not decide to burn papers with dry grass around none of this would of happen , This is your fault this happened and your carelessness." I will not mention which relative. I was the female George Jefferson that day if you get my drift so if you heard some hollering and screaming on January 25th 2014 that was me I will say this not too smart burning trash with dry grass and close to a building. There was a friend of mines husband told me I should of made this person pay for the car.

I have Plymouth Furys, from the original Fury, to the Fury 1, 2, 3, and the Grand Fury. All of those I have were originally owned and operated by the Kansas Highway Patrol, except the Grand Fury, which was an Oklahoma Highway Patrol car. Strange thing, though, as I remember the movie "Christine", the car was called a Chrysler, not a Plymouth. Zlso, is was slightly wider, and longer than the Plymouth Furys. And when comparing front grill work, from the cars in the movie, to what I have, those movie cars were definately Chryslers. I have a Chrysler Model Year book, for every Chrysler, Plymouth Dodge vehicle made singe 1950.

The windshield wipers running reminds me of the drive in movie scene. It was a torrential rain and they had to run the wipers to see the movie. The port wiper stopped, with only the starboard wiper still functioning. Arnie got out to monkey with it, that's when Leigh almost choked on the hamburger. Leigh managed to get Christine's starboard door unlocked, and that's when the man in the adjacent car pulled Leigh out and did the himlic maneuver. Arnie first thought the man was attacking Leigh.

The 57-58 DeSoto Adventurer was a really beautiful car as well. The owner made a mistake. The 58 Fury came with either a 290 horsepower dual quad 318 or a 305 horsepower dual quad 350. I think that the Plymouth "Christine" had a 350 Golden Commando V8 engine. Plymouth had a 350 V8 in 1958. This was considered to be "a big V8" then. Chevrolet didn't have a 350 V8 until 1967. This engine premiered on some of the first Chevy Camaros.

Something about this Volo Christine always gave me doubts about its authenticity. The are two screen used Christine's well documented and known to exist. Martin Sanchez in Ca. owns the Moochie chase car and Bill Gibson in Fla. owns the other. A third documented car was auctioned at Barrett Jackson, and it was owned by the studio and used in promos. This Volo car was originally listed for sale years ago by Volo. They were asking in the $120,000 range. However, at that time I clearly remember ( and pictures are still on Volos site) the car having '57 fender spears, and no bumper wings. I have heard the Volo people admit the car was originally a 1957 Savoy. They claim Belvedere sporttone was added and it was one of the many cars the production had in inventory for filming. But obviously with the '57 features, it never had any screen time. So basically anyone could create a Christine clone, and it would have just as much provenance as this Volo car. I think Volo realized it was never going to sell at their asking price, so they invested in the parts needed to complete the '58 conversion and decided to put it on display in the museum section. Now that it has had screen time in Hulu's 11/22/63 production, Stephen Kings ink ran signature on dash, and supposed ties to the Christine film, I suppose it's a big step above a clone. But I wouldn't spend over $100,000 on her that's for sure.

White part of the passenger side on rear outside of tail fin has a small blemish or dent in the video -- a shame!
@loucostabile8 жыл бұрын
Hi, I think the video blemish is due to a question KZbin asks when you load a video which says, "Would you like to stabilize your video?" I hit yes, and have learned that I should not hit yes as it creates a wave like effect in the video. Apologize for the inconvenience, and on my newer videos you should not experience that issue. Lou

WHY THE 1960 PLYMOUTH FURY WAS SUPERIOR. It was designed by men who had survived the horrors of WW2. They were Patriots, were happy to be alive, at home, and in their prime years, they were strong and dependable. They believed in a bright future for their nation, their peoples and their families. These men were the sole income earners for their families and the unquestioned heads of their family, for the Baby-Boomer's in North America this was the traditional family that we all knew. Cars like the 1960 Plymouth Fury ooze with attitude, it's happy, carefree and wild. As well as a strong, dependable, functional car, like the men that built them. They built cars for themselves and their families. This vehicle is visually stunning and celebrates life and is a sexy car! It was the 1958 Plymouth Fury that portrayed “Christine”, as the sexy demon possessed car of Stephen King's movie “Christine”. You couldn't remake this movie with a 2020 Toyota Corolla, it just wouldn't work. images.app.goo.gl/6vQTZTQ9mUFMAga87 Todays cars have a disease that I call “Design Dysphoria”, they have no attitude, don't exude sex at all, are androgynous gender neutral cars, like good Nazi's cars they are built to comply with every federal, and state mandated requirement. images.app.goo.gl/ji1hvfuuSk5VRJGs9 To manufacture cars today they all have to comply with government regulations regarding climate protection, this also degrades there design. Climate Change science is not established science, but this subject for another comment and another day. Both Men and Women are necessary for humanity to exist, we are equals spiritually and intellectually. But the Woman has been subjugated to the man since almost the very beginning, she wasn't subjugated at the beginning, but when she chose to believed Satan's lie, “Ye shall be as gods”, there were consequence of that sin, death came into the world for the first time and God put Eve under Adam's authority, because she was deceived and Adam was not. And this was God's doing, not Adams.

The 1958 Plymouth was a very unpopular car and described to be of poor quality compared to its competition. The movie Christine made this car so popular that now every tom dick n harry is digging them out there graves and restoring them. Yes they did destroy 21 in the making of the movie but thanks to the movie, the Plymouth fury 58 will live forever.... unlike some other classics

I honestly do not think that's a "Survivor" from the Movie. Interior is all wrong first of all. Secondly, the Tint on the Windshield is just as dark as the Tint everywhere else. Most importantly, there are only 4 confirmed Survivors and all are owned by Private Owners. Who owns this one. Just sayin'
