I can attest to this first hand. I used to go to Westside on the weekends, and at breakfast, Louie would break down training, and how to optimally train, and it was like talking with someone from a completely different planet (and I have a Doctorate). Coker translated, along with Jeremy (Smith). The man, when it came to powerlifting was like fucking Newton. The second weekend I was down there, I brought a notebook. There will never again be someone who "knows, " not philosophizing about powerlifting, like Louie. One of a kind.

Love those old cross fit videos from the era AJ is talking about, check the Louie teaches Chair Deadlift. Obscure stuff like that is great to watch

The chair deadlift is absolute money for getting back into the groove of deadlifting (like after recovering from an injury or if it’s been a while). I’ll occasionally do a few reps of conventional and sumo chair deadlifts to really lock in my form for a deadlifting day
