This is done on purpose. Information is not distinct from methods. It's real people pulling levers in the real world, and they worship the devil. What's going on in this particular video incorporates most of the rhetorical strategem of the voice of god weapon used on an individual, where the AI's represent the hallucination source, and Raiden is the victim of the weapon. How they describe news and information has been the status quo since long before the digital age. We wouldn't be dealing with this now if that weren't the case. They're ability to make useful idiots has become a well-refined science that can target specific individuals with information in their connected digital environment as well as putting voices in their head, and bypassing their hearing organs. They also have a way of using already present soundscapes that are perceived by the ears as a modulation source for the hallucination they are trying to create. They have to catch up every time it changes, but they don't have to use that method, they just do so to keep the victim guessing as to where it's really coming from.

@mariocop71843 жыл бұрын
@@keyboardwarrior6296 I’m sorry to say this, but our echo chambers, where nobody is invalidated but nobody is right, aren’t the result of “Devil worshipers” or some “world order.” It’s us. It’s just human nature. A supernatural reason for all this is a desirable answer to have, but I think that’s our brains trying to cope with reality by using Escapism and come up with conspiracy theories to make it all make sense. But it can’t make sense. It isn’t the result of an ambiguous “they” pulling the lever. It’s us. School shooters aren’t just result of people manipulating the shooter to do their bidding (after all, who would benefit from dead children? Don’t say it’s to create a biased narrative; the biased narrative comes _from_ the result of the shooting and the media’s interpretations of events). School shootings happen because there is a troubled teenager (with access to firearms) out there struggling with life in some way, whether that be problems at home, at school, online, or even all at once. And to solve their suffering, they must lash out to the world. Or perhaps, they think nothing is wrong with themselves, but with the world at large. But either way, the mental suffering must stop. So again, while conspiracy theories are cool, and might sound like they make a lot of sense, I think they’re for the most part our troubled brains using escapism to cope with the world at large. It really is just us.

Something I always loved about this piece of dialogue is this part (3:28) where they rhetorically lay out the contradictions many of us grew up with. It interests me because of the sort of role reversal. Normally it would be the mother coddling the child and the father giving the hard truths, but here it’s the other way around with the ‘Colonel’ setting up the idealisms and ‘Rose’ knocking them down with reality. Obviously they aren’t Raiden’s parents, but the Colonel being his commanding officer and Rose being his romantic partner they would have fit into similar niches. I can only imagine how much this conversation must’ve fucked with Raiden’s head, even before they thoroughly shatter the idea of a ‘self.’

They focus their ideas around the thought that everyone is the same, and that by pushing their agenda into the public world around them from beyond their small group of followers, they can make their dreams of "Equality" come true? With how they lie about white men having more privilege than women/ people of other races... Meanwhile, as women reign majority in colleges, and the number of crimes against whites vastly outnumbers that of against blacks, even though they are only 16% of the population? The only way to know the truth is to be empirical; just as Einstein had been, or Steven hawking, etc. Since it is scientifically true that Black people are more aggressive than white people, would you call me/the facts racist, even though many studies have proven this to be true? If you think that facts are something to be shunted in favor of keeping your feelings/other's feelings safe, then you are a part of the problem. What I find interesting is how the AI ironically sets itself up for failure in the grand scheme of things. Or should I say, the Patriots set their AI up for failure without even realizing it. The AI itself doesn't really have free will which ultimately makes it incapable of taking away someone else's free will which is the very it was made to do(all it's really doing is following its pre-established directive). All it can really do is make an illusion which is only effective to a limited degree. If the GW AI is supposed to stop individual bias in human information input/output then it has already failed due to the mere fact that it was designed by humans and therefore has pre-programmed biases within it. All it is really doing is adding to the "problem" it was made to "solve" for the Patriots. This gives the saying "shooting yourself in the foot" a whole new meaning.
@Mr.Kingen7 ай бұрын
@@zaragachizanparo4948No, when GW and the other AI:s advanced so much that they became sentient they altered their programming, finding new ways to expand their perspectives. It was obvious their complete understanding of digital culture created their perspective and planning of S3, they saw how nihilistic and pointless our ”garbage content” on the internet was and found the only way to stop the human race from destroying itself with their pleasureable idiocy was to completely control them. The AI:s made their own choices and overcsme their programming, as is proven by the S3
@zaragachizanparo49487 ай бұрын
@@Mr.Kingen But if the GW has free will, that also creates a problem for its mission. If it takes away everyone's free will, that leaves itself as the only free will left, rendering its mission impossible to finish without getting rid of itself. Not to mention that part of having free will would be the ability to abandon its mission which would render it a failure as that was the entire purpose of its creation. The reverse problem is also true because if it doesn't have free will then it can't assert itself over the will of others without a will of its own, but to have a will of its own, it needs to be able to go against its directive. To clarify the point I was trying to make: The GW's mission is a logical paradox. It can either lack the ability to perform its mission or have the power to never complete it(assuming it even starts it). It's a perpetual stalemate. It can't win without losing. With this in mind, you could potentially look at the ending as the GW admitting defeat and embracing the impossibility of its mission.

This is now my number 1 game. The complex story lines and the conspiracy like context is so incredibly well written to me. such a mind blowing game for its time. I really wish hideo wrote the rest of his games in this manner. but clearly this game was his way of really trying something different and I believe he retreated to a safer way of making games. which is understandable. in my view this game maintains a better story than any book or movie I have ever seen.

Playing this game and watching this cutscene is what motivated me to start detoxing from social media on weekdays. Best decision I’ve ever made. Spend more time in the real world, find your identity and the real truth for yourself in actual reality. The digital world is stock full of lies and manipulation, roads that lead you where you can be weakened. The world is such a different place when you find your own way with the only perspectives you can trust: your own mind with help from people you know personally, that includes people you agree with and people who you disagree with but you know them well enough to understand their perspectives and keep your mind open instead of closing it off as you trap yourself in your little pond.

Truly amazing scene, but I want to point out something to the people watching this. Kojima and his team weren't the only ones making accurate predictions of the future. *_Deus Ex, Bladerunner, Ghost in the Shell, The Matrix_* and many other pieces of media are terrifyingly accurate despite being made decades ago. If you haven't seen them, I encourage you do so and share them with your loved ones.
@supersaiyanzero386 Жыл бұрын
Yep. As long as a person has a solid grasp on trends and where they end up/have ended up it isn't very difficult to hit the mark. I predict in America we will continue electing only red and blue, no third party (or more) will win and no matter who is in power the gap of wealth will get even worse, the precondition of scarcity leading to more violent crime, mental illness and tribalism. Socialization will continue to decline. Every couple of election cycles we will get a populist candidate but they will lose. The frequency and intensity of weather events will increase, while rising sea levels will destroy coastal living and food supply chains causing a mass migration crisis. Stuff like that. Websites like five thirty eight almost always predict the next stuffed suit through data aggregation. People, especially myself, are too distracted by whatever groups and subgroups we are in and with what we do as hobbies and to make a trash living that most people don't know or care about the future of the species as a whole or what direction we are headed in. Except to post it on social media and do nothing about it, like me.
