Because Garry didn't do a lot of TV or interviews, especially in the social media era, he is dangerously underrated. The Larry Sanders show cannot be recommended enough. watching it is fun by itself, but it's also a precursor to so much of the comedy we see today. it's so brilliant, that it also presents "bad comics" in a way that makes you recognize bad comedy that happens today... I think for Garry, the only difference between good and bad comedy, is authenticity.

Okay after watching a few interviews with Charlie Rose... one thing it seems he doesn't understand is when whoever he is interviewing tells him something Charlie knows, he always says "I know".... Charlie, its for the audience... not you.

I think he actively sought likeminded younger comedians to guide and mentor as he get older. I’ve heard a few mention how empathetic he was which is rare in show business
