This program was one of the most exciting things to watch when it came out, because you just got an email saying it was out, and all you knew was that it was a new show from Louis, and you had no idea what to expect. And then it was absolute genius, and totally different to what you'd expect from Louis, every episode is like a play, the episodes didn't have fixed lengths, you were never quite sure what each episode would be like. I've never had an experience quite like it, and I loved it so much.

I love how Louis is always trying to subvert the tropes of TV.
@ClayMann8 жыл бұрын
+RMJungleBerry he's a sneaky one that Louie and we all spell his name our own way. I saw a guy that called him Loosey K, like he was a rapper or something. I didn't even know who he was referring too until I used my brain to assemble things together and I went. Ooh Louie CK! I'm sure you were riveted by that story from a complete stranger.
@joshk.8 жыл бұрын
+Clay Mann It's Louis CK (or Louis Székely). There's no "spelling his name our own way", that's just misspelling. However, I understand why you call him "Louie CK", as that was a character he portrayed for a few years, that was pretty much just a fictionalised version of Louis, but Louie CK and Louis CK are different I'm afraid.
@ClayMann8 жыл бұрын
Joshua Kent well you sure told me. I've been spelling it Louie all along. Oh dear. Well thanks for the correction. It's an odd name for me being a Brit. It's just not a name we use here. Louis in my head comes out as Loo-ess. I think I'll be good to go from now on.

@joshuahommbre87788 жыл бұрын
+ffsf739 It is absolutley incredible. The acting alone is superior to any other modern show I can think of right now, yet Horace and Pete delivers on so much more. The fact that every character is treated like a real person makes it so incredibly humane. It's dark and tragic in places yet it's also funny and very pure. I can safely say that it's one of the most honest things I've seen in entertainment.
@ffsf7398 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, Joshua. The text is also amazing! There were parts that reminded me of David Foster Wallace.
@joshuahommbre87788 жыл бұрын
ffsf739 That's great, man! I can't really say that I'm that familiar with David's work, but to me the show had a very strong Chekhovesque vibe because of the organic shifts between comedy and tragedy and also the fact that it felt more like a stage play.

I completely agree with Louie. There have been too many times where trailers or ads just ruin the movie or item that you've been excited to see. It's all hype that almost never fulfills. Like when HP Deathly Hallows 2 was getting hyped up, I think IMDB had a 11 min preview of the movie with just random clips in it from the movie and of course I watched it and when I actually watched the movie, it didn't feel so entertaining to me. I appreciate his enthusiasm for pushing this kind of content into the viewers cos it really is taking the biggest stand of a product. Louie really is a comedic/entertaining genius in every way possible.
