I was watching this and thinking: "It's not his funniest at all, and he's kind of genuinely sounding like a jerk" (you can see the lady on keyboards at the back making faces in that sense), and all of a sudden he says "And she said a bunch of stuff that changed my life and I'll never forget it" and boom, redeems himself absolutely in the eyes of the audience, while making a great joke.
