Louisville bar on Bardstown Road closed 'effective immediately' after four years

Afrokanza Lounge was in danger of losing their liquor license last month after the Louisville ABC said it collected "substantiated complaints" against the bar.

The highlands used to be my stomping grounds. Once the downtown crowd started making there way to Bardstown road it went downhill fast. The name of the bar says it all.

I'm from Louisville also...so wait a second! You are suggesting that the name of the bar, "AfroKanza" is a reflection of the type of crowd that's come to that area and making it worse? Please elaborate because I'm certain I read this correctly!

@@lightyearsbeyondify they are affiliating the violence in the area with this club. The intention of naming a place “Afro” anything, is designed to keep white people out. Racist people are hateful. I would expect the same outcome if it was a club aimed at attracting white racist kids.
