Thank you for the tour. How old does a Chicago fig need to be before safely planting in ground to survive a 7 b zone winter?
@loumonti106 ай бұрын
@sunshinedayz2172 Hi there! Any age so long as it's well established throughout the summer. If it's well rooted by fall, lay down some winter mulch in November, and your Mount Etna will be just fine come Spring! Lou Monti

I have several large fig trees in my yard (zone 8). In July every year a LOT of green unripe Figs fall off the tree. Is this normal, or is there a problem with water, fertilizer perhaps.

@susanwaddles5593 Hi Susan. Well it appears that the figs dropping off are main crop figs. So, being that is the case, are a lot, or most, or all dropping off? If most or all are dropping off, then your tree might be a San Pedro type and require Caprification. Do any Breba get ripe? Lou Monti

Hi Lou, nice Video once again. As you were speaking of Breba, does your Smith tree, which you grow in a pot, have Brebas? Regularly or at least ocasionally? And don't you have one Smith or a similar (said to be) cold sensitive variety planted in soil? (I m not sure right now) Best wishes and sorry for my english, Andy

@@Andy-o1o9v Hi there! Mine produce a few in pots. I haven't grown a Smith successfully to fruition yet in the ground, but my in ground Smith will produce nicely this year. There are no breba. Lou Monti
