I’m living a very similar story. Me and my HS sweetheart finally reconnected 33 years later. Now married for 3! You never forget ❤️

I met my wife, a single mother of 2 girls, in 87 but I was like the wind in and out of her life. I have bipolar. Yet the love was beyond description. In 96 I married another person (another bipolar compulsion) she broken hearted married as well. In 2006 we met again and married a few days later. Close to 13 years later everyday is anticipated. So many moments we feel as if we are meeting and falling in love for the first time. Oh the girls are grown and we have 4 awesome grandchildren

So happy for these love found stories, I hope they appreciate each day together. Some of us never find that special someone but it's nice to know some really do.

When I was in the U.S.Army stationed @ Ft. Jackson S.C. I met a gentleman in the mess hall. He approached me and we hit it off. He was in engineering and I was in supply so we only got to know eachother for 3 weeks. I was still a virgin and he respected that. On the Monday morning he was to leave he stood on the side of the road in his class A's and duffle bag w/ sadness in his eyes. I could only march by him and mouth the words goodbye cause to break rank and give him a hug was out of the question. .When I have told the story it can bring a tear. When I got to my classroom and roll was called I asked to be excused and cried my eyes out in the bathroom. I think of him often, and I'm sure he became a good man,husband,father...cause that's what kind of man he was. He was my first love..and was the one that got away.

Didn't you go looking for him once you got out of the Army? You can still look for him now, he may still be single or a divorcee. You have nothing to lose by talking to him.

When I told Teresa I loved her she asked me with a pirate smile and a grin, how do you Know you’ll love me in 40 years? When I found out that Teresa had passed away, and I started to cry, I can tell her it’s been over 40 years and I still love her. Go for it

I never had a sweetheart until I married my husband. Wolfgang Keller was a man I dated once and wrote for a few years.

What about the marriages thwarted by parents only to happen 50 years later?

Diana's story is particularly interesting, she didn't marry before because God had an amazing plan for her in that she would be marrying her 1st love, she didn't know this of course and she did know "the other person" had to be ready too, goes to show that no one knows what the future holds

Sure: LOVE can be sweet the second time around if in-laws stay away and stop sticking their noses in. LOL!!!

it gives hope to romantics! I hope my lost love comes back! I ran into him at the beach this summer after 18 yrs, I now can't stop thinking about him, he's everywhere, I still love him, idk what to do, idk his situation, all I know is the look on his face, he's still in love with me, maybe more than before. I'm trying to manifest him back into my life. if he comes back, I will do whatever it takes to make him stay. ❤

That doesn't always happen. If I saw that old love, I'd still dump him. There is no one but my husband who I choose to be with - in life and death and afterlife.

dang elitism! it’s based on a study by a cal state professor (who is unnamed) and then use a Rutgers professor as a talking head.

If anything happened to my hub that would be it for me. And not cuz he was my first love, lost and found love or any other kind of love. And I definitely wouldn’t go looking for my first boyfriend who two timed me because I wouldn’t put out! Besides there were/are too many differences between us to even think about it. Serious differences I wouldn’t compromise on!

How about a realistic piece about how people in their 40s and 50s who never married or had kids are destined to remain lonely, sad, and bitter?

Oh please. There is not such thing as love. There is just evolution and sex. End of story. We just have to learn to put up with our spouse until they get hit by an asteroid and then we can collect on their life insurance policy.

A lot of truth there - sadly! It’s just that we are Humans w/ faults; and we do not meet the other person’s expectations & visa Verdani. BUT- there are exceptions so many people, as in these videos maybe the lucky ones, finding unconditional love. 💕
