Watching Amy Poehler and Melissa McCarthy read Gilda's journals with such emotion really touched my heart. I was a toddler when she died, but I remember her fondly. She was wonderful.

She was SNL's *First Female Superstar* Her impact on the public, the female cast members who followed in her footsteps and the show itself is still immense even now almost 30 years after her passing. She was the vibrant ball of comic energy that lit up the show in it's early years. Her comedic legacy is assured. The tragedy is that she never lived long enough to see her influence on others.......

We saw this at the Tribeca Film Festival premiere with many of her contemporaries in the audience, and it was introduced by Tina Fey, who spent her entire introduction holding back tears, so that says something. It's a very lovely film. Also, she had exquisite taste in guys.

Gilda Radner was, in my opinion, the funniest comedienne ever. She loved what she did and loved her fans. I remember seeing the NBC report on the day of her death. It was Saturday, May 20, 1989. Steve Martin hosted SNL that nite. He showed the skit of them dancing. When he introduced the clip, he cried. I cried that day too. Although ovarian cancer took her, she left a beautiful book with us as well as the great comedy memories. I'm excited to see this film of a talented and very funny woman who will not ever be forgotten. Gilda Radner, you are still loved and missed.

I was fortunate enough to see a taping of the show with the original cast in 1979...which included Gilda. While everyone in that cast was an incredible talent, Gilda had a certain 'energy' about her..you couldn't take your eyes off her onstage. A phenomenal talent who we lost way way too soon.

And I am sure when his wife passes on, he will be there waiting for her. Maybe even with Gilda. Hearts are expandable. He didn't have to forsake his love for Gilda. But I hear you - the sentiment that they are "reunited" does seem to diminish the 25 year marriage he had with her, that, by all accounts, brought him a peace that perhaps he didn't have with Gilda.
