Bottom line: Aaliyah dodged a bullet I’m not having to spend a week in Mexico with the insufferable Uche. The shenanigans of the producers in covering up the Lydia/Uche connection were a blessing in disguise for Aaliyah.

The only real issue is Lydia smothering Aaliyah. Lydia should’ve kept her distance and not have gotten so close to her. But because she did get close with her, it makes everyone question her intentions as to why she did. You genuinely cared for Aaliyah? Or wanted to sabotage her chances of being happy with Uche due to insecurities and jealously? But honestly Aaliyah should be happy about the way things went with Uche. She would’ve gone on to engage a man that was a shitty human being. Uche was not the right man for her regardless of Lydia being there or not.

@@theshellykumarok I agree with you. I just meant that regardless of how U was and he was terrible! But my point it the L, U, A triangle was a major storyline. Lydia was terrible and that should be acknowledged by production. I think based on the way both L and U, messed with A’s mind that situation should be a reason why production evaluates how they handle situations when two people know each other. U an L really did some mental manipulation on the show and production had a hand in it. They realize it and edited A’s push back on Milton’s dismissal of her experience. I hate to see anyone’s experience belittled-this was not done to the others especially at the reunion IMO.

There was an interview with the other black ladies from this season, they said they believed lydia followed uche, that the girl suing for sa had also a connection with Milton and lydia got close to her same way as with alyah and convinced her to let milton go.

They said she kept her close, and told her that milton is her man and her last chance, seems like the girl was very kind and not very assertive (as per the article about the law suit) so she let him go

It sounded more like Lydia and Uche saw the casting call post, not that she knew casting had reached out to him. My friends and I all saw our city's casting call on Instagram and shared it with each other or talked about it briefly too. That's what I think happened here. I don't really see anything insidious in that part. There's no way to know who was actually casted on the show or not and there is probably some rule that they can't tell people they know that they've been casted.

As a Black woman, this was so infuriating and highlights how the intersection of our identities could make our lived experience inconsequential. So many people on that stage downplayed Aalyah's experience and ignored the impact their decision(as producers) made on her. Essentially as long as everyone else had a good experience, it's fine that Aaliyah could take the fall.

As a Black woman, I have the opposite view. I don't know what everyone was expecting to be honest. It's been more than a year since filming. A lot of people probably have negative things they could share. Focusing the reunion on that wouldn't have been entertaining for the majority of viewers. This season was already pretty boring, so I don't think people would have enjoyed an apology tour for Aaliyah. Her experience wasn't as bad as Tran's or Renee's experience either so at this point I just couldn't care less about the Uche and Lydia situation

I completely agree with you I was frustrated too and would add that Production exploited a bad situation for the drama at Aaliyah’s expense. It was production’s decision to allow U and L to stay. And it was U and L decisions how they interacted with A. They were both deceitful, disingenuous, and disrespectful to Aaliyah’s feelings. If Lydia, was a “good friend” with good intentions she’d apologize for overstepping boundaries and not recognizing her “friend” was being negatively affected. Production has 100% responsibility for the s#*! show in this situation. I believe they encouraged it.

We watched Bartiste, and Jackie be absolved for problematic behavior as well. It seems the hosts have favorites. I agree, the way things went with Uche I think she dodged a bullet cause I get the feeling that she’d try to change herself too much but I also feel like the ability for her to choose was taken away. The ability to choose to get engaged, see that through or even break up, all of that was taken from her and I can see how she feels cheated. What was the point of taking time off work and your life and going through being emotionally available when it inevitably won’t matter because the producers have other plans that they know will impact you.

I agree with Aaliyah that production should have just notified all the participants that Lydia and Uche know each other and have chosen not to date. That’s it. I also think they withheld that information on purpose, hoping it would cause drama. It did. Lydia said that she and Uche discussed seeing the announcement that LIB were casting in Houston. She didn’t say they had spoken to production.

This season of LIB had soo much manipulation. Cast members manipulating each other, production manipulating us with edits. Ugh 😩 it's exhausting. I feel like I can't trust anyone other than Aaliyah this season.

After seeing the show and multiple interviews, my belief is that Lydia had a good idea that Uche would be there though she didn’t know 100%. Uche might have know that she was considering the show too but to a lesser degree. I don’t think Lydia went to LIB for Uche but she did have an idea that he was going. So there was an omission and a lie there. Ultimately it is on production to have managed things in a better way and to prevent Lydia from harassing Aaliyah.

The truth, as always, is likely in the middle. They had discussed interest in going on the show before. Lydia might not have explicitly known or expected Uche to be there, but was hopeful or open to the possibility he would. I don't think she chased him but she wasn't totally clueless he might be there also.

Lydia did not use the words " i did not know" Uche would be there, she said she had "no confirmation". What that means to me is that she may have known, but uche never confirmed it. Like who else would confirm that Uche would be on the show besides uche himself? The producers? She probably text him and he never responded., thus her wording of " no confirmation".

Unpopular opinion here, but while we say we wish production would’ve handled this differently we are all here eating up the drama… What would be this season without the Aaliyah-Uche-Lydia triangle… I do feel bad for Aaliyah in a sense, and she seems like an amazing person, but we all know Uche would’ve been harmful to her, and in a way it’s better that things didn’t work out with them (even though they gave it a chance outside of the pods).

I can't imagine any scenario where the man I have known for years, met his friends, regularly go to his apartment, and am CURRENTLY sleeping with tells me that he's applying for a dating show to get married and that conversation ends after 2 seconds. Or vice versa. Does she really think the audience is dumb enough to believe that? I think Lydia signed up for the show knowing full well Uche would be there. I don't think she was set on ending up with him and probably was open to the opportunity of talking to other men, but her story doesn't seem believable in the slightest.

I don’t think he said he was applying, just that they each saw it was behind filmed in their town. after they met in the pods, she said once should they try. He said no, she dropped it then fell in love with someone else. So even if she hoped he was there when she applied, feels like in the end she was indifferent

I agree. I think the odds that Lydia DIDNT know are extremely unfavorable. I believe she was so obsessed with Uche, she tried convincing him that it was “fate” and when he said he didn’t think they should have any contact, she tried “if I get engaged , how are YOU gonna feel??”. Girl, he wouldn’t care. If he did, he wouldn’t have dumped you and gone on a dating show. I noted how she never said how SHE would feel if HE got engaged, and I think it’s because she was desperately trying to convince Uche (and herself) that he was in love with her and not the other way around. Then she started obsessing over Aaliyah and she did say several times that Uche wasn’t right for Aaliyah, and giving her advice that, had she taken it, would’ve ended up in her dumping Uche, freeing him up for Lydia. I could see straight through her caring friend act- it was SO over the top and she thought she was sly by slipping negative thoughts about him into her convos with Aaliyah but it was very obvious. Aaliyah had said that Uche told her he couldn’t see his life without her, and the sadness on Lydia’s face and her saying “wow…he said that?” looking so defeated, really spelled out jealousy to me. You could see her being far less affectionate with Aaliyah at that moment, and she couldn’t even muster up any advice at all. She looked pissed, actually- and I think it’s likely she started really cornering Milton out of desperation and anger towards Uche at that point. You couldn’t see an ounce of chemistry between Milton and Lydia, but he was an object she used to create jealousy in Uche. When she was pushing all of that info about Uche onto Aaliyah and saying over and over again “we’re the same!” and “Uche, you found someone JUST LIKE ME, wtf!”, when she and Aaliyah couldn’t be more different from each other. It was so uncomfortable to watch and I don’t know why Aaliyah sat there and took it instead of forcefully telling her to stop, or just getting up and leaving.

All that matters is that Lydia interfered with the process. Whether or not she followed Uche, she tnterfered, first by befriending Aaliyah, 2nd by bombarding Aaliyah with super personal information when Aaliyah asked her to stop. It seems like Uche decided to take the high road, saying Lydia was trustworthy, but was embittered when she interfered with his connection and decided to bring receipts. Lydia potentially did psychopathic nonsense here and she didn't account for her behavior in this tell all at all

I think Lydia knew Uche was coming to the show. The way she said “I didn’t have confirmation” makes me infer that she knew he was in the casting process just didn’t know the final result. Not sure if Uche knew. But Lydia at least had a great deal of suspicion he’ll be there

I feel like it’s important to say that there are two different stories with what Lydia said about “running into someone from her past”. The first time we heard someone claim she said something about it, they said “Lydia said ‘I think’”. But once the ball started to get rolling with the drama narrative, people started saying Lydia was saying “I hope”. Who knows which is the truth, but it’s an interesting change in dynamic with just a simple word change and the timing/context of it

Oooh man! This is so traumatiska for me…when i went to school (4th grade) a teacher let each and every one of my classmate to say there opionion about me. The first one said “mean” and then I had to sit there and listen to 24 other kids taking turnes in calling me mean. I was destroyed! I thought that this exercise would be one the other kids but this was only one me. Somehow I got the same feeling when the interweier asked the others about if was ok that they let Uche and Lydia stay. Of course no one would say no they should not be there when she is sitting there. In some way I felt it was the same thing what the thrasher did. Either Lydia lied by not revealing her relationship with uche in order to get cast, OR Lydia and uche weren't in a relationship and her being mad at him for seemingly cheating is lying in order to drum up drama for the show. It can't be both. (The only other option, which isn't outside the realm of possibility, is that Lydia did disclose her relationship with uche and production cast her anyway for the juicy drama.) What a freaking mess.

Uche didn't bother Milton about Lydia in the pods. In the conversation Uche had w/ Milton at the group meeting, Uche confirmed that he didn't bring Lydia up in the pods & Milton didn't disagree, he just shook his head in agreeance. Milton spun the story at the reunion to defend Lydia. This is why I wish Uche was at the reunion to mention his side of the story, no only for himself but for Aaliyah too. Uche not being there allowed Lydia & Milton to spin the entire story & make Uche the scapegoat. This season really frustrates me bc production is lacking on showing us proof of things the cast mentions happened in the pod. They can always incert unseen footage like other reality show reunions do sometimes.

I think producers initially wanted to throw Lydia under the bus and make her the crazy stalker villain of the season. Granted, there are reasons to side eye Lydia but . So I think that's why they didn't show Uche's shenanigans, but it all backfired because Lydia got married and she's in the only successful marriage of the season. People would have being going up to the both of them to get info "what is Uche/Lydia REALLY like?" and it would have affected either of them potentially finding partners. My suspicion on how they both got on. Uche was approached by production, and he never mentioned Lydia to them because he was afraid they would reach out to her and she would either trash talk him and/or say they were currently in a relationship (because they had different opinions on Their relationship status). If production got a bad review/conflicting review form Lydia, then Uche wouldn’t get to be on the show. For Lydia, she approached production to apply for the show, and never mentioned Uche because she suspected he was cast already and knew that disclosing that to production would get her cut from casting.

Aliyah did corroborate uche’s claim that they did not break up that day at the restaurant on a podcast episode she did with ‘The Beys Tv’ and she said she thinks they manipulated the edit because they asked them to return to the show, get engaged and continue with the process like Zack and Bliss did but they refused. Uche also mentioned this same reason in a podcast he did, can’t remember the name Right now. Uche also said him and Lydia never had a conversation about coming on the show like Lydia claimed. It’s hard to trust either Lydia or uche because they’re both sketchy but i think uche’s claim is more believable, at least TO ME. Also, some of the black women from the Season 5 cast did a podcast episode with ‘Jessie Woo’ and they revealed that Milton also had a close connection with TRAN, the cast member who’s suing for SA and just like Lydia did with Aliyah, she befriended Tran and begged her to give up Milton cos he’s her last shot of finding love and Tran did because she’s a very nice & easy going person. The point about Uche's reaction in the pods is excellent. They stopped seeing each other approx. 3 mos prior and you don’t recognize her voice/accent?! I find this hard to believe or understand. Why didn't he own up immediately? Yet he's spent the whole time saying he had absolutely no idea she was going to be there. If that's true, ok. But if it's not, I don’t believe anything else he's said.

Okay, it’s not logical, but maybe intuition? Lydia felt with her 6 sense that she was gonna run to someone from her past. I had a similar premonition when I was 23 and lived in a different country and felt like I needed to travel to NYC in the specific dates, like smth important was going to happen in my life. In those 3 weeks traveling in the US I met my husband who I’ve been married now for 10 years. And it’s not like I was actively looking for a husband or even a bf. I was not ready at all at that time. When I met him he was just a friend and I could never imagine us being together 😅 So this is real. Even when I lived in the other country, I told my gf, I don’t know what it is, I just know I need to be in NYC in those days. I must add, I do have some psychic abilities according to my astrological readings and seeing other psychics. They all keep telling me I’m a psychic. But I believe this is just strong intuition.

I think both. Lydia and Uche knew each other was coming on this show. Lydia wanted to start again with him when she knew it was him in the pods and if they ask for people you've dated or ex-boyfriends ex-girlfriends then why didn't Lydia put Uche? We see how quickly she latches on to someone as far as dating and you didn't put that you had an on and off relationship with Uche for 2 years up to three months before coming on the show? To me. That's BS. You knew he was coming on this show. And I don't like the way that Milton tried to downplay what Lydia did to Aaliyah considering Uche did the same thing to him. Why are you negating her experience? Especially if you're saying uche did the same thing to you? I understand that your wife now and that's great, but the part of being in a good relationship is saying yeah, I don't like what she did but you know thankfully you were able to see Uche outside of this scenario and find out for yourself whether he's a good person or not. Not trying to act like oh. Let's sweep it under the rug what my wife did because she's my wife. No. Let's not downplay what Lydia did to her as far as smothering her giving her more information than she wanted disrespecting her boundaries. And I find it interesting that both Uche and Lydia talked so highly of each other. But then Lydia says when they're arguing at the barbecue that he cheated on her. So why would you want to get back with someone who cheated on you. And why not tell Aaliyah that he was a cheater instead of telling him that you slept together. And did you tell Milton that you and OJ have together three months ago because they didn't air that part? So I just don't like that they're trying to downplay what Aaliyah went through. She was the one who got screwed. Let her find out that uche is a jerk on her own, but it's like because Lydia got her fairy tale, we're just going to protect her and act like she didn't do anything that was inappropriate.

They probably discussed it and thought it would be funny or fate. And maybe Uche led Lydia to believe he would go for that. I think Uche likes to manipulate women and keep them on a leach as "friends." Uche mentioned that he had women check his social media and they found Lydia. Perhaps, these women are reporting each other and do not realize that he may have told the other women to watch his social media for him. It was interesting that he acted like Lydia was a stalker. Uche is an attorney, he Knows that he did not describe enough things to call anyone abnormal or a stalker. But his suggestion really upset Lydia; She was afraid Milton would leave her.

If Lydia really knew Uche would be there & was hoping to run into him, could it have been revenge/to dump him? There's nothing in their televised reaction nor anything either has said that indicated either was trying to start anew with the other in the pods. If they wanted that and producers said no, they'd have left. My point is simply that there are many possibilities and none of us know the truth except Uche and Lydia. The rest of us are guessing

Lydia may have applied for the show after Uche but what are the chances they would both get picked? I cant believe Lydia was diabolical in convincing them to choose her for the show because how would she know if Uche was picked for the show too? I don't think she has that much power. Uche didn't like her in real life, so by her going on the show wasn't going to change his mind. Either the producers knew before hand and decided to use it for drama or they had no idea both would get picked for the show. But they def should have let others know they knew each other.

But I have the feeling that on this season there was A LOT of time spent analysing the show itself and the way it's produced. I do find it interesting also, but it kind of hoes around in circles and sometimes I feel the time would be better spent talking about the psychological aspects of the scenes 😊

I just find this thing difficult to believe...so they saw each other and had sex 3 months before the show started, supposedly they were seeing each other somewhat regulalry, they have some of the same friends (suplosedly), how late does the show tell you that you have to take several weeks off from work? For some reason I thought they would give at least a couple of months advanced notice so you can prepare...and this seems like a big thing and they talked about it before but then they dont?

Lydia was & still is Milton’s first choice from day one. He made his feelings clear and vocalised to the other guys as well that she was his number 1. That’s why Uche was on him, coz everyone knew Lydia was his number 1. He didn’t weaver from this. He mentioned this several times in and out of the pods. His wedding vowels sealed it all when he said Lydia was always his 1st choice and he NEVER had any doubts about her. So stop trying to finding new ways to hate Lydia and saying these black girls said! I only go by what I saw and heard Milton say, not some hearsay! I don’t care what Cinderella sisters say 😂. Milton wasn’t going to propose to anyone else BUT Lydia, like it or NOT…it is what it is 😂. Lydia won…nearly 2 years later and she’s enjoying her marriage whilst some continue to bark 😂

I'm surprised by your faith in the show's intent to show reality. I always thought the show was irresponsible, and that was before I learned of the behind the scenes shenanigans. I actually found your channel while looking for therapists condemning this and Ultimatum. But I've enjoyed your reactions without needing you to condemn it. I agree that real drama is better than contrived, reality tv non sense. But there's too much money on the line for production to wait idly for conflict to happen.

Other people may like this, but I think stopping the video just to theorize what might happen or what someone is thinking, and then that answer be stated soon after you restart the video, is kind of off-putting and really takes me out of the moment you’re reacting to. These tangents sometimes take a pretty long time and sometimes I forget where you left off. I think stopping the video to ask a question that you know will be answered in the clip (and usually right after it starts) is just kind a waste of time, knowing you have so much knowledge to share about psychology . On the topic though, if they handed out a list of full names prior to casting the show, the potential cast members are all going to Google the names on that list, REALLY destroying the experiment because they’ll see pics of them and essentially see what they’re all about before even getting to filming. I also believe 100% that Lydia knew she was entering the cast in a way that is NOT truthful. She totally knew and followed Uche there- that scene where she “finds out” he’s there in the pods was so transparent and she faked her surprise, followed by her desperately trying to get him to “start over” with her and when he refused, she tried to make him jealous by asking how he would feel if SHE got engaged. Not mentioning that he had already dumped her, and for pretty good reason

Maybe you should rename the show 'Random thoughts in Seattle' because I would say less than 15% of the show is about psychology. Recently more than 50% of the shows have been about your thoughts on tv production. I really do think it's about time you employed a professional editor.
