Hey James and Tammy! Just wanted to tell you guys a pretty wild story. My Dobie had 9 puppies end of Dec. 5 weeks later after the 1st mush meal, I noticed one female struggling to poop. 24 hours later I try to take temp because I noticed she was trying again. Long story short, she had no anus. She was defacating out of her vulva for FIVE WEEKS. All 3 vets were astonished as was I. A tough loss for me but the best bet for her was Heaven. Surgery was 5-10k and not guaranteed for her lifetime. Had it just been skin grown over, different story. Just thought I'd share since so many different vet offices had never heard of this and thought you may find it interesting. Everyone, check your puppies butts!

This condition is called an imperforate anus syndrome has been seen before in infants and usually they do a procedure which they place a bag on there stomach to be able to process their waste out the body to prevent infection. It’s a genetic disorder caused by a chromosome deletion which is the directions of how each individual cell will form if the chromosome changes it causes a change of direction that causes a malformation like this. I would not breed these two dogs again until you do some genetic testing. My son has a chromosome deletion and it caused malformation like this both on his brain and his private parts he is 15yr old now and does have special needs . So even if they thrive the genetic test should be done before they go to new homes good luck

Let's get into DNA, and the new fads like pink ,koy, bigrope etc. What you think the most valuable puppies will be over the next couple years etc. What are the key traits colors etc to be reaching towards the million dollar dog well maybe not million lol. But you get the idea

I have watched all your videos, Love them. Question about a swimmer puppy : Would you keep one back to use in your breeding program ? Is this something that is hereditary and will it pass the trait on to there puppies ?

Hi James and good afternoon . I need some clarification about deworming mom at whelp. I believe you said front line 10 days before, 3 days after??? And then 10 days from that for a total of 3. Or were you saying 10 days before and then 10 after for a total of 2?

Not front line. Use safeguard starting 10 prior to whelp for 3 days Then again 7 days after whelp for 3 days

How long do you work on a pup that is born not breathing? The puppy was lifeless and had a white tongue and palette and I worked on him for 10 minutes…is that long enough or should I have worked on him longer?

Probably a gooner. Especially with a white tongue. A stethoscope woukd help. No heart beat your done I have seen pups come around 10-12 mins after birth though

Have a 3 week old pup wheezing for 2 weeks, no mucus or signs of sickness. Breaths with mouth closed. Eating and gaining weight. Any ideas what it could be. Small nares?
