I discovered Lovebites two and a half years ago and I’m still in owe. Of course I’m gonna miss Miho but I thank her so much for creating a miracle called Lovebites. When they comeback they are gonna take the world by storm.

same here except i am a musician. i did not hear any missed notes from either guitarist. i've heard the recorded version a thousand or so times and this is about perfect. midori did misplay a note on the ending solos when she tried to do that overhand note bending thing she does but it was just not in sync with what she was going for. but the notes still were on key. so i see one mistake in the entire performance. and if you watch this song from their 'awake again' studio live it is absolutely flawless and i wish more reactors would do that one

In fact, it's just easier for both Midori and Miyako to play the notes correctly than to make a mistake. No improvisation, everything is strictly calculated and memorized to automatism. If the solos at different concerts are played a little differently, than it means that it did not happen by chance, but it was intended that way.

The only thing I don't like about the Lovebites reaction videos is that hardly anyone talks about Miho. I understand that the front row is more attractive, because everyone gets excited about the guitars (which I understand), but for me the soul of this band is still the rhythm section. I've been a fan of Steve Harris for 25 years, but Miho.... Awesome. In the music world, there are few such bass players who can fantastically support the drums and guitars, and who can also bring their own style and little show into it. Impressive!!!

@@genchodaj7560 There is a rule in music - no one talks about the bass. There are rare exceptions. MISA in BAND-MAID is one and Fami is one. But Miho followed the rule. And the main reason why no one talks about the bass is that most people do not hear the bass, if the bass is one with the drummer, which Miho was.

If you can find them on YT, react to videos from the first Lovebites concert professionally recorded on June 28th 2018 known as "Battle in the East" or from their perfomance at Wacken in August 2018 - both 'Shadowmaker' and 'Above the Black Sea' are up on YT at the moment, and see how they performed in front of a large-European crowd, most of whom had never heard of them and the reception they received.

Got to remember - this was their FIRST Live DVD recording session - all those cameras moving around must have increased the nerves and pressure on this performance. I've always thought that the little imperfections from this one made them determined to be 'perfect' in the future. Seems to have worked, because the Five of a Kind, Ride for Vengeance, and Heavy Metal Never Dies DVDs are all flawless performances. Most particularly you can see Asami Hydrating constantly in the later shows, even during the lead guitar solos, and her voice is much stronger for it. I think it is why they did the Awake Again Live Session DVD in Dec of 2020, where they performed this song and others from this concert with true Lovebites perfection.

This song along with Burden of Time, is best reacted with the Live in studio vids. Awaken at the Abyss aka their studio. In everyday cloths. Camera on each guitatar during solos. Haruna smiling having fun. So much better in studio .

Can't go wrong with Lovebites, all there songs are just great. I would say put the song "We the united" from their 2020 concert on your list to watch. Its the last song of the concert and they seem to enjoy it the most. Great video as always 😀

They've got their Drop D guitars out! Miyako's Switchblade gave her a few problems during this show, "Break the Wall" especially. Also, at 9:59, I don't think Midori pulls off that crosshands stuff. To my ears there are a few phrases where Asami gets a bit screechy, but it's not a big deal. She sounds great otherwise, but for this song, I prefer the version from one of their other lives, "Awake Again." All that said, the energy is great, the drums and bass are perfect as far as I can tell, and the crowd is having a good time. This was from "Daughters of the Dawn," the third of their seven live releases so far.

Scream For Me: A unique song for Lovebites. This has a great bass line by Miho inspired by Anthrax. The song is a bit of a boogie beat to and seems more pentatonic and blues based. The reason the flaws are more noticeable is blues and pentatonic are not played to a click but to a feel and the idiosyncrasies of the mistakes give this song a great feel. You are right that it works here and that does make this a fun song. It's a jam unlike anything else Lovebites has done.

I call this "Power Ranger Core" because it is very reminiscent of the Power Rangers .... It gives the impression of Giant Robots punching giant monsters in the face. Anyone interested in Mecha. And therre is one part of the second set of solos where Miyako plays a riff from the battle scene from Power Rangers. Every time I hear thsi song make me want to Yell "Go Go Power Ranger, Mighty Morphing Power Ranger!"

Daughters of the Dawn is where you go to remember that Lovebites are, in fact, humans too haha. It's also cool because you see and hear clear improvement from DotD to Five of a Kind and Ride for Vengeance. Each show has its pros and cons, I feel.

If you wanna see them kill this song live (at least recorded live in studio) you gotta check out Awake Again: Live from Abyss. That performance was next to perfection. You could say they've had some time to fine tune their skills since this performance! Thank you for acknowledging that it wasn't flawless and letting people know how human it is. Most reactions I've seen act like it was completely perfect because they think that's what the viewers want to hear. We know it isn't a perfect performance, but it's sure a hell of a lot of fun and you can see the girls having a blast playing it!

A fun, raw, and you get spoiled by perfection when there is a song or two by them that isn't pristine as you expect. It's Lovebites own curse being way too technically sound that makes a few "missed notes" seem much bigger than they are. Other bands do it all the time, Lovebites does not.

Their MV averages just under 1 million views and their subs are less than 100k. IMHO Overrated Japanese bands on youtube that come to my mind are Babymetal, One Ok Rock and Band Maid.
