The coming together of these 5 women is one of the great, absolutely fortunate coincidences in music history. Miyako as a guitar player, piano player, composer and arranger really is the golden touch. Miho is a special type of person who cannot be replaced in a band. If God makes us humans on the assembly line, Miho is the human he takes Friday after work off the assembly line and takes home to finish by hand. And while doing so, he built a few special features into his head. What the Lovebites women should know : Without Miho it will be difficult - every band needs a Miho special type. What Miho should know or remember for the future : A band of 5 Miho types wouldn't work either.

When I first saw/heard the MV to this I almost immediately heard Judas Priest. After that I was too dumbfounded and just watched in amazement the rest of the way through. It sounds to me that if you isolate Haruna's Drum's from everything else it's more than just a double base beat she's running through. It sound like there is a pattern within a pattern in much of the song. At least that is what I hear. Love this band. Can't say it enough. 🤘 ✌

It wasn't til i saw the live stuff from the girls. like the entire body of their works and live versions, that i was truly a fan. these girls have done stuff with the metal heritage and expanded on it to a stage that, no one can equal them now. Unbelievable. also a fan for life now.

You always do great reactions to this band but this time it was too much... It was too much to let go unnoticed. I think this must be (in my opinion) the best reaction to Lovebites since the "Songs and Thongs" channel's first reaction to a Lovebites song, and quite possibly above it because that reaction lacks all the analysis you did here. Magnificent.

The intro to the song is different but it reminds me of Y&T intro From The Moon that leads into the song Open Fire from their LP Black Tiger. Again, it is not an exact copy but is the same concept musically. Miyako's solo just before going back to the vocals sounded so much like shredding Ritchie. Rainbow was such an influence on her since she used to listen to those albums with her mum. Haruna must run a double marathon during a concert with her bass drums. She uses every piece of real estate with her kit. Finesse, power, speed, accuracy, perfect timing. That's Haruna. Midori is such a shredder. Her and Miyako compliment each other so well. Yes. Miho is a flat out rocker. She is already missed. Yes. Asami is a master of vibrato on her voice. I want to say something about great singers. They aren't afraid to let their musicians play and show off. You can see this with Asami. Look at how she looks during the solo. She's just beaming, "Look at who I get to be on stage with." This is a reaction video. You are supposed to stop. Do all the Lovebites songs as reactions because you will never be disappointed. When you run out of songs by Lovebites to react to, you will have reached the end of the Internet. Just put another nickel in. This time watch each concert from start to finish. To get their catalogue and merch go to their official website and their booth store. They can has DVD/Blu-ray, CD, Vinyl, T-Shirts, Mugs, Picks and all manner of merch. They can ship international. Just follow the directions.

Masters of Metal, Angels of Steel! I've been listening to Lovebites for four years now which is about as long as I had been listening to Metallica (whose album "Ride the Lightning" had been like a musical revelation to me in December 1984) in 1988. The difference is: While I had already liked MOP less than RTL and while AJFA was the last Metallica-album I bought, I haven't heard a single Lovebites-song yet I would like to skip. This is even more surprising considering that only a minority of Lovebites' songs are Thrash Metal (though there may be thrashy elements also in some of their Power Metal songs), which is my favourite metal subgenre, whereas the majority of their songs are from subgenres I normally like less or don't listen to at all, but Lovebites have the special gift to write songs also in those genres in a way that I love them.

Great reaction. I love this song. It was the second song i heard from them and hooked me. First one I heard was When Destinies Align (which is also amazing) but I was very new to power metal then and was not quite man enough to handle Asami's vocals lol.

Going way back, I believe Shadowmaker was the first song I ever heard from Lovebites. The solo section definitely caught my attention, but it was that last little part from Miyako with the very technical sweep picking that made me stop and back up. Back then we only had the music video, but even without a live version you could tell from the way she played it that this wasn't a band that cleaned up their guitar tracks in post production. As a life long guitar player that worked very hard to reach a high level of proficiency I was very impressed!

Fantastic dissection of their brilliance. I hadn't really followed any music seriously since the 60s and mid-70s and only discovered the craze of KZbin reaction videos during lockdown, when someone posted the Dimash song 'SOS' on my FB feed. He's completely different to this, and brilliant in his own way. As I started to watch other reactions, Lovebites 'Glory to the World' popped up as a suggestion and they quickly won me over as well. My favourite Lovebites song is whatever they are playing at the time.

LOVEBITES - Shadowmaker lyrics: Caught in the noise, my thoughts are destroyed Trapped in the silence, it's so hard to breathe But still I go on, my hunger is strong Hoping that someone will grab my hand Stranded by moonlight I realize the cold of this world Maybe it's too late? No one can save me From all of the darkness and solitude Cry, like shadows of the night I carry all the pain inside to justify why I'm alive Despite going through this hell Cause still my heart has hope No matter if I'm torn apart, I'll play my part Before I drown with secret thoughts of my heart Reckless and fast, how long will I last? Dancing like puppets, I'm empty inside Fighting the fear, and grieving the dear Hoping that someday I'll be repaid Only my echoing heartbeats can prove that I'm here Am I all alone? Even a faint light is too bright for me, I can't see a thing Hide, in shadows I reside I tremble like a heartless soul, no place to go In desolated land knowing no escape But still I wish to live Just waiting for a somebody to notice me Before I fall down to depths of the abyss SOLO: midori / mi-ya / both / miya Caught in the noise, my thoughts are destroyed Trapped in the silence, it's so hard to breathe But still I go on, my hunger is strong Hoping that someone will grab my hand Stranded by moonlight I realize the cold of this world Maybe it's too late? No one can save me from solitude Cry, like shadows of the night I tremble like a heartless soul, no place to go In desolated land knowing no escape But still I wish to live Just waiting for a somebody to notice me Before I fall down to depths of the abyss Like shadows of the night I carry all the pain inside to justify why I'm alive Despite going through this hell Cause still my heart has hope No matter if I'm torn apart, I'll play my part Before I drown with secret thoughts of my heart ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) from Awakening From Abyss 2017

You never stop it too much. Intelligent comments are always appreciated. And then of course replay all the great stuff. Who could possibly complain about that. I love it. My favorite part of your reaction was, and I quote, "A whole ass load of Shriekery". Is that a new thing? Ha!Ha! Love ya man. Now I have to Sub. The 'White Wolves' have re invigorated my love of music again over the last few years. My music appreciation started way back in the early 70's as a young teenager. So I grew up with the biggest bands that ever existed over the decades. This is real music by real musicians. And they look damn good doing it too.

I have good news and bad news, one geek to another. I discovered Lovebites through another reaction channel two years ago. Good news: I found a new all time favorite metal band. Bad news: the obsession is real. This has to be my 200th time watching someone react to Shadowmaker alone. It is one of my top five Lovebites tunes. I love the soulful guitar duet and the thunderous barrage from the rhythm section. My eyes get misty every time they do that solo section in the middle. I know the nerd in you will appreciate this next comment. You love it when Asami does her vocal flourishes; check out the 2021 live performance of Holy Wars in Tokyo. I am pretty sure you did the 2020 version like most reactors. Asami starts that version with a metal scream that goes up; it sounds like a 747 taking off and always gets me pumped.
@massivemetalreactions2 жыл бұрын
Wow. There is also a synth in the track I didn’t hear on the other vid. Maybe it was buried or my ears just didn’t pick it up. Thanks
@flameofudun84472 жыл бұрын
@@massivemetalreactions Thanks for responding. I love that ascending scream that launches the 2021 version. I have read in the comments that the synth is another contributor to the band that plays keyboard for the click track. Of course, Miyako can play a mean piano, but this is another player I believe. The writing for their music is so complex and well done. Mind blowing.

Thank you for another insightful commentary into the world of Lovebites!! 🤘🐺🤘The MV of this song was the first time i listened/saw Lovebites, i was hooked before the solos even started!! Asami once again stellar, that belt to launch Midori's solo, so good!! Miho's bass introduce this feeling of triumph during M&M's guitar harmonies!! Also im pretty sure you are the first person to notice how Miyako arranged her little lead part at the end, playing the 2 notes on the "off beat"!! I know its nothing fancy or anything but its the little things that get ya!! Lovebites song writing is fantastic!! I want to recommend one of the fan favorites you havent done yet, A Frozen Serenade - kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5aboYSMqpKFhJo Enjoy!!🤘

This is the song that got me, too (early in 2020, sadly). I don't normally click on recommended videos, but the thumbnail for the music video intrigued me so I gave it a go. I was absolutely floored, and within a week of exploration I'd bought their entire catalogue. What's interesting is that there are a number of songs that they've changed subtly to make them better live than on record. In this case, the vocal hold that you love so much is absent from the studio recording. Another change comes at the end of a song you really ought to do soon... The Hammer of Wrath. The live version on KZbin is also from their 2020 show, and comes as a twofer with the pre-recorded intro, The Awakening. A classic one-two punch.

Love the reaction. This is my go to Lovebites song if I just have time for 1 song, its just pure awesome the whole way. The Asami hold out (which is a real omission on studio version as its such a key moment) and the Miyako 'rest' moment at the end just make the song next level and that's not even mentioning the solo! Loving your reactions. Cant wait till you get to A Frozen Serenade and hear what you have to say about Haruna on that one too 😀 kzbin.info/www/bejne/d5aboYSMqpKFhJo

Interestingly, another reactor was completely bamboozled by Miyako’s missing notes at the end. He thought something had gone wrong. I have zero knowledge of how music “works” but I noticed that the very first time I heard the track and I almost wait for it. I understood it, probably because I’m used to the Lord God Ritchie Blackmore doing basically what he likes when he likes..
