I know that in British summer time clocks are adjusted an hour extra to enjoy more day light and more work hours I think and that British people love going to the beach. We are exactly an hour ahead of you

British Summertime is worshipped in the same way as Polish people do. Barbeques, grill meals, beer, vine, drinks 😉😀 Having being in London, I have to say that both above nations are quite similar to each other but we are diveded with 1000km 🤔 at least it is 2 hours by plane 😎 Greetings Sabrah and Leila 😚😙 P.S. I spent five Julies in England (also a few weeks in other months). Believe me or not but it was always hot (for me) and sunny. Occasionally brief periods of showers. Only one disaster - when I drove to the Lake District to take photos and enjoy the beautiful sights. There were clouds and drizzle everywhere, even in the coffee shops. When I became hungry I spotted a pizzeria (white, red and green banners made me think 'a real pizzeria'), but the base of the pizza was made of ... Yorkshire Pudding (or so it tasted). But of course, the best of all was my first English Summer and it was in London. Everything was 'for the first time'. The Downing Street was open so you could take a photo of THE DOOR easily. I particularly remember the amazing last night of the Proms. I saw it only on TV but it was a TV in the English house! Sometime later I would sing 'Rule, Britannia' along with my friends in the club. I also get acquainted with cricket and trifles. I love trifles! Thought you'd never mention the sponge! Secondo me the sponge used in tiramisu (savoiardi) has finer air bubble holes than the sponge used in trifles. But maybe it was only the case with trifles I had. BTW have you heard about 'zuppa inglese' (English soup) based on a trifle? And finally - cricket. To beat West Indies or Pakistan is so sweet. But to won back the Ashes - is extraordinary. I had a chance to 'learn watching' cricket when giants such as Geoff Boycott and Ian Botham were in the English team (I don't know why I still remember their names). Yes, I had good times in England... but never heard of Pimm's (we were beer boys, occasionally whisky, but no cucumbers, just neat). Thank you for reminding me about the trifle.

Once, eons ago, I spent two weeks of July in London. I was travelling alone (interrailing in fact) and made up my mind to visit all the museums: Albert&Victoria, British, Tate and National Galleries... And all I can remember is rain, rain and yes, rain. Actually, I think I ended up in all those museums to escape from rain. So, you can say Bristish rain is kind of... educational. You're welcome. My dad was a Serb. The name was anglicised when he came here - as a displaced person/refugee from the Second World War (1941-45, he had been in the resistance in the Balkins) he spoke no English and the Immigration officials spelt it as it sounded to them (the usual Serbian spelling is Nakić.); he of course learned English and spoke it well, along with six other languages. He and mum met here, she immigrated in the late 1950's from London, where she was living at the time. She comes from the Outer Hebrides. I have lots of relatives, mainly in Scotland, but also quite a few in England, So I am a bit of a mix.
