Regarding the ending scenes in Rebirth: “The End is Nigh” attack name from Sephiroth, is from Loveless (yes!) is one of those Loveless lines Genesis recites… Also… and HEAR ME OUT with this one… “Legend shall speak Of sacrifice at world's end The wind sails over the water's surface Quietly, but surely” The part that says “The wind sails over the water's surface” doesn’t it reminds of the scene Aerith appears in the last battle?

It's not Sephiroth.... It hasn't been since mid CC. Jenova took over his cells and possesses him.

Bruh, this is the most bullshit "it's not Sephiroth" I've ever heard. And no, it's not Genesis or Jenova. Genesis was still alive when Sephiroth turned. Jenova isn't even Sephiroths mother. The journals that Sephiroth reads in the basement of the shinra mansion literally talk about the experiments that he was put through as a baby. His mother is never mentioned by name. Instead, they mention the Jenova cells which Sephiroth then assumes he's the son of Jenova. His actual mother is a woman named Lucrecia Crescent, which is why Sephiroths full name is "Sephiroth Crescent" and even in the original game, Lucrecia shows up and refers to Sephiroth as her child because she knows what he's turned into. It's also extremely likely that Vincent is Sephiroths father. Lucrecia and Vincent had a relationship around the time she got pregnant with Sephiroth, however it's more lead to believe that Hojo learned of Lucrecia being pregnant and once she gave birth, he took Sephiroth. (I think out of guilt for not being able to protect her child she killed herself) So no, it's not a possession. It's literally Sephiroth reading journals and making assumptions on who his mother is. Nothing more than that.

Actually wrong. Sephiroth wins the battle of wills over Jenova during FF7 when he's entered the lifestream. He's just beginning to warp and corrupt upon reading what Hojo likely left him to read on purpose. Pretty sure it's theorized Jenova's will was OK with this as it aligns with what she sought to do in the first place.

@@CrimzonRozez he literally says "I don't know anything about my mother except her name was Jenova" when he first arrives in Nibelheim with Zack and Cloud. So he already knew his "mother's" name.

@@xemmyQ no, he didn’t know his mothers name, and this IS ALL following set lore. Jenova cells were used in experiments made on sephiroth. It’s been stated in lore that hojo took sephiroth from his birth mother, lucrecia, to experiment on him and make him into a weapon. Jenova was never sephiroths mother. Iirc, its only stated in the shinra mansion journals that he has jenova cells within his body, its never outright stated that he is the child of jenova. Which falls back to my original post. It is TRUE that sephiroths mother is never mentioned by name in any journals. As for what he says when he enters nibelheim, its what he’s been led to believe by shinra. And, again, its never outright said. The journals talk abut experiments. Sephiroth was an experiment.
